I am creating a new character and I really want to be a Droid Engineer. My Question is, if you know:

Arethere going to be any good Battle Droids for you to craft or not? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Now is probably not the best time to ask us this... We cannot even craft astromechs right now, nevermind real combat droids.

Honestly, we've received nothing but extremely vague forward-looking statements from the developers, and I don't believe there's any hope of a real change within the next couple of months.

In any case, our correspondent Sintrosi has informed us that we will be kept informed as to what changes are going in, and we've received nothing of the sort yet, so obviously they are not yet designed, and designing is just one early stage in a long process.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

Yeah the lame ass DEVs said they are working on combat droids, but I don't believe them.

hmmm if you want to start working on it off and on as a hobby ok, but dont take it seriesly, if you take your time you can be a mster DE in a few months and have fun doing other stuff, andmaybe after x-mas will see some real droids but....really would be best to wait for some new battle droids to hit TC before deciding to be a DE right now.

I'll echo everyone else - don't bother right now, unless it's only as a hobby.

I've seen a large influx of Novice DE's lately - and whenever I speak to them they seem under the false impression that we are getting new droids very soon, or that we are going to be "fixed" right away.

At this point, now that module level matters, no one is going to want most of the droids you make until you hit master, or at least very close - so unless you intend on spending a million credits to grind up the tree right away I'd wait.

In addition to what these other guys say, I'd recommend you start peddling your way slowly up the Artisan tree. Become a Master Artisan and then use those skill to sell in bulk to the DEs and other professions. While you're doing that, you'll gain the XP needed to pick up Novice DE. Once the time comes, your character will be ready to jump into the fray with minimal fuss, and you'll have made a decent amount of money to afford the grinding materials to quickly shoot up the trees. Something, a lot of us didn't have, and hand to mine and do other missions to support the grinding habit.
