Thread: Possible work-around for medical droids not working after patch?
I was a little upset when I pulled out my healing/med craftingdroid yesterday to heal a friend's wounds, and recieved the "you must be in a campsite...." message. I tried storing and calling him again, and shortly recieved the "your droid's custimization fades completely away..." what? I checked my datapad and looked at that droid's stats. Just about non existant. I looked at my other droid. a basic med MSE droid that I hardly ever used after buying my med and crafting droid. In it's stats were something along the lines of "custimization left:19" I pulled it out, tried to heal my friend, and wow! It worked. So apparently the custimization is what is effecting whether you can heal or not using your droid. Unfortunately from what Ive heard from some DEs custimization can't be added again? So I guess the only work around would be to buy a new droid with a new custimization count, or to use a droid that still has a count left on it. Anyone else have any ideas? In any case, I hope the devs fix it soon. You guys can make some awesome stuff, but just keep getting nerfed. From a BE that feels your pain, thanks for sticking with it. :-)
two words: *low power*
Check for this... modules don't work when the droid is out of power. Get some batteries.
Note, that the customization count will go back to 20 if a DE re-colors your droid. Other than the color, there should be no effect to colorization.
Also, use a battery to recharge your droid, and the medical unit in it will probably work again. Please repost if this doesn't work.

Is custimization working for a DE to recolor my droid?
Hard to say at this point. It all seemed to be working yesterday, (albeit with a few minor problems), but right now, none of the R-series droids can be crafted, as well as the mouse, and I think it's color-related.
I had a customer who purchased an MSE-ADV with a Med-6 and a Food Crafting station (long story) tell me that she encountered this bug also. The Food Crafting station worked, but the Med-6 module apparently did not.
I don't recall the date exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was a droid I made (and delivered) after the big patch. All of the components were made on the spot, too, and not pre-assembled.
I'm a doctor and have been dealing with this bug for a few days.
If I call mySurgical Droid I get the 'campsite, hospital or next to a surgical droid...' message. Standing right next to a 110 capability anywhere - starport, city, anywhere basically gets this message unless the location has medical ability (which overrides the droid of course). It just does not work, but the crafting station in it does work - so it has nothing to do with batteries (I recharged it four times to be sure).
In the exact same location, if I pull out an Arakyd (sp?) droid with medi module in it (35 capabilty) I alll of a sudden have a working med droid.....
I have owned both droids for some time, so if it is pre-pacth only, it didn't affect my cheapie med droid.
So, is this issue related to Surgical droids only?
Those with two functions (medical & crafting)?
or Those above a certain level of medical capability?
Are new droids having this problem?
I've had multiple customers mention this issue as well, but every one of them was resolved with either a battery or a hit from my power droid.

I get the same message. The first time I put my brand new 110 R2 away, I got the "customization fades away message" Now I can't even call the droid. If I'm in an appropriate place to call a droid (outside in city, camp), I always get the:
"You can't call pets in a private house" message.
Please also note: Newly crafted droids don't seem to actually display the customisation number anymore.. atleast I couldn't find it when I check the surgical and treadwell i built last night... maybe I was too tired, but I doubt it.
This isn't just medical modules it relates too. A lot of modules appear to just stop functioning for no reason and then as if by magic (after store/call several times) it works again. Affected modules are as follows:
- Medical module
- Item storage module
- Crafting stations
Also, it now appears that having two medical droids within a certain distance of each other is causing the same effect as having two crafting stations near each other ... they nullify themselves. So, if you are receiving the "campsite" message with a med droid, then also make sure there are no other med droids in the vinicity along with your power checks.
Another note: It now seems that any crafting station in a droid witn another crafting station of any time stops BOTH working .... its no longer the same types that nullify themselves.
