Droid Engineer Archive

Ok a Dev has acknowledge our "cough" little problem a full 24 hours since it happened. Lets at least try and be helpful and get this ironed out when it happened.

Saturday morning I was able to craft a few droids. Later that day the server I play on, Chilastra, had some sort of "hickup". Chat went down for a bit, and shortly after a guild member asked me to make him a droid. This is when I noticed the bug. This server hickup and bug, related, or just coincidence?

The problem occurred with the Saturday Morning HotFix. If they fix the problem today, Monday, and install it Tuesday morning, then a full 72 hours will have passed with the bug intact.

I'm a software developer, among 4, in a company of about 200. There is no way in the world that we would push out ANY code on Friday afternoon unless we absolutely had to, and we would expect to work the weekend if we broke something. Things were working quite well for us on Friday. My biggest gripe with this bug, (because, overall, I think the game is amazing), is that they should have known better than to change code on a Saturday Morning Hotfix unless they absolutely had to -- and in this case, they didn't.

I run a small software company also.

We don't do builds on Friday either for this very reason.

All engineers, software and hardware, are on call over the weekend at my place of employment. You DO NOT stop production because someone has a golf game or a pool party to go to. C'mon guys, we are your customers. We pay you to give us a product that is reliable and enjoyable. If you won't work on weekends then I shouldn't have to pay for weekends.
