Thread: Questions from a droid user
I'm a Musician and Carbineer, not a DE, but I very much want to make use of droids, especially an advanced probot. I've read through your FAQ, thru Sintrosi's latest posts, and thru your bug list, and I'm still confused about how to repair my probot droid.
1. Repair. My probot seems like a pretty good tank, and he doesn't even have the best armor modules; Light Armor, just 12% resists or so. He can tank a dune bantha while I shoot from a safe distance, so long as I let the droid get aggro first. He even gives me a group XP bonus! All great -- but he loses half health and then has to be stored to heal (though he does heal FAST).From the FAQ, it sounds likeI need a second droid with a repair module to repair my combat droid, but I'm only allowed tocall one droid at a time, right?Could Iput a repair module in my combat droid and use it to repair himself?
2. Other modules. FWIW, I'm planning to upgrade to the advanced model, with 40% resists and Medium armor. I gather I can order a couple of general modules on top of that? Should/can one be a repair module? What else would you recommend?
To my knowledge, there is currently no way to repair your own droid. Most of my customers come in and order repair modules in their droids. That way, they heal their buddy's droid, their buddy heals theirs. In theory, the "droid repair tool" is an option, but it's been broken since release. Not so cool.
Anyway, yes, you can put a repair module in that spiffy new AdvProbot, but it cannot heal itself. You can only heal other droids with it, so you have to get creative to find a way to repair the thing. Although, if you do upgrade to 40%-medium armor, it won't need healed all that much. ![]()

Should help out a bit... I'm planning on updating this week. ![]()
I think you're talking about the white bar, right?
1) White bar: I know of no way to heal it, but rumor has it that Pet Vitality Packs will allow you to heal the White Bar.
2) Black bar: A repair droid, (which your local DE should have), should repair this.
White Bar Damage cannot currently be healed on a droid at all. Pet Stims dont work. Artisans were supposed to be able to make droid repair kits that worked the same way as stims for pets, but it has been broken since launch. An entry appeared on the In Testing page that they were adding a replacement that was working but it never materialised and the line mysteriously disappeared on the patch notes for the last big publish.
Repair modules. The only work on another players droid, you cant use them to repair the same droid they are installed in. Repair modules are used to heal wounds on a droids health and action bars.
Batteries are required to stop you getting the *Low Power* message and also to heal mind wounds on droids.
Mind damage cannot be healed the same way creature pets mind damage is healed, we have no equivalent 'trick' command.
If your droid gets death-blowed it will lose a vitality point (these can be seen in the datapad). They work in exactly the same way as Creature Pet vitality, and are healed in the same way with a Vitality Pack from a Bio Engineer (makes sense huh?
Hope this clears up any misconceptions.
