Thread: this isn't the response we were looking for
just read this http://pc.ign.com/articles/454/454061p1.htmland even though the DE and most other
professions are broken this is not the response i was looking for.
How about you?
*post flames/rants/responses/ Here*
it is a response! and so it is the first step DEVs had to do, first detect the bugs than inform customers that bugs are detected and are adressed than adress bugs and fix stuff.
i hopethe attempt to fix this professiondoesnt run down in the sand again like it did after launch.
This aint about the very first DEV post to our thread bro .
Click the link and read it. http://pc.ign.com/articles/454/454061p1.html
I was very shocked.
I know the games broken almost beyond repair, But still I never wanted anyone to quit because of it.
If that is why he quit.
WOW noones gonna read this?
I figured it would get at least a few replies from peeps just as shocked as I .
I think his resignation has more to do with the fact that he was a complete and utter muppet.
I'm betting he was the guy that forced SWG to be released when it was.
I had not heard this news, and am a bit shocked. However, it is whole truckloads of premature to assume he quit regarding this game. I prefer much more intriguing conspiracies, myself.. like SOE bought him out.. or maybe they "made him an offer he can't refuse".. hehe
Cheers,
First of all, it's very unlikely that he had any input, at all, in the day to day management of SWG. SOE is the developer...LucasArts is the publisher. Sure, they communicate through Shug, who is the producer on the Lucasarts side of things, for all major decisions, and maybe they have some QA people at LucasArts doing QA on SWG, but that's about it. And if you're interested, this is what gamasutra had to say about it:
LucasArts President Quits
In a surprise move LucasArts president Simon Jeffery has quit his position at the company, stating that he plans to return to Britain to be with his family. No further information was given on the cause of his departure, which will see the company’s president of finance and administration, Mike Nelson replacing Jeffery on a temporary basis.
The move is seen as curious since Jeffery has overseen a clear turnaround in the profits and quality of LucasArts titles over the last year, although rumors have claimed that internal disagreement over non-Star Wars projects has upset many long-term employees.
It has been suggested that this was the one of the primary reasons for Hal Barwood’s departure from the company last month.
So...it probably has nothing at all to do with SWG...maybe something to do with MI5 or FT2 or something
.
