As we had assumed, thier minds were made up from the start. The **edit**ing bastards!
(From Runesabre)
I have read a lot of the feedback on the proposed "Droid Invasion" changes. Here is a brief summary of what I'm hearing from everyone involved with providing feedback:
1) The Droid Commander profession needs to distinguish itself functionally from the Creature Handlerprofession similiar to how Vehicles and Mounts were created with distinct differences, advantages and disadvantages.
2) The proposal for CL10 combat droids made available for everyone are not going to be used anymore than CL10 pets since they don't last very long in combat, thus, the demand for Droid Engineers to craft these droids are going to be minimal and not translate to the "combat droids everyone wants" goal we are shooting for.
3) Droid Engineers are looking for more utility droids (new droids and modules or fixes to existing droids and modules) that can be used by other non-combat professions and not just the addition of new combat oriented droids that only combat-oriented players are interested in.
4) The demand for high level combat droids used by the new proposed Droid Commander profession will be directly proportional to how many players choose to take up this profession. The fear, again, is that there will not be enough players to warrant a large, consistent demand for high level combat droids.
5) The addition of combat droids does not fit the continuity of SWG since the timeframe in which SWG is playing in is during a time when the Empire has called for a ban on all combat droids and made them illegal.
Does this accurately sum up the main points iterated throughout this thread?
