So some of you are going around asking us 'crafters' give a reason why DH/DC is a bad idea. Well if that is the direction the game is to go, then it really is not a bad idea. There is nothing wrong with making another tree. It gives the players something new to try and it gets droids 'in the game' as the DEV's promised.

A cert system for combat just will not work and should not be brought to the game. It is a bad idea from the begining which is why another profession is the right way to go. Now note I said combat, a cert system for utility use is another ball game, in fact it makes sense. The problem with adding a cert system for utility is that we as DE's do not have anything to sell right now. To add limits to droids and profs, say only a Doctor with Master Wound Treatment can use a Level 6 Medical Module and only the ADV Surgical can have that Level 6 Module would be to much work to implement in the game. It would require reworking both professions, Droid and Doctor, and all the other professions as well to add any of the fantastic ideas we 'crafters' have brought to the table.

So that brings us back to this new profession. I ask you those that want it, why do you want it? To give you more things to sell? To make money? To add more droids to the game? Do you want to be both a MCH and a MDH?

Lets say it is to give you more stuff to sell because you can not sell what you already have. Why create a new proffession just to give yourself something to sell? If the current droids were useable and had some function this would not be a problem.

To make money. See above, also there are easyer ways to make cash if thats all you want.

To add more droids to the game. again see above, if a BLL could do harvester runs, or a Power Droid could power factories and havesters you could not keep these things in stock and you would see them running around all over the place.

MCH and MDH. This is a nightmare waiting to happen. What is to keep someone from calling say 3 pets and 3 droids at the same time. The skills to do so are different and you would have to make it so a MCH could notlearn this new profession or not be able to use it at all.You wanted DH for ballance, well I dont think you are going to get it in any form.

So instead of fixing something that is broken the quick and easy way out is to add something new. Droids were not planed or implemented correctly from the begining, and to fix it is a bigger job than anyone here thinks which is why it will not happen. So add the DH/DC profession, let the game get out of control, and the crys of the 'crafters' will die down.
