Well I think this will definately be the blow that breaks the profession for most people. How do others feel? I personally can't understand how I can build something from the ground up and not be able to command or use it. That just seems totally off the wall to me. I thought maybe this **edit** would have been fixed by now, but it seems it won't be. It seems they took all of our ideas and said Fook it and are just doing what they want anyway. What they are going to get is a profession with almost noone in it. And that is a **edit** shame considering droid (in my opinion) are and intregal part of what makes Star Wars, Star Wars. /Rant off

LOL have you seen the things a BE can make- But cannot use? same **edit** thing hun... same thing....

im BE and CH and i still cant use more then a third of what i make....

Just know theres atleast one other proffession out there that understands what you are feeling...

A creature is a living thinking uncontrollable thing.

A droid is man made, and told what to do and will follow without question.

In logical fashion you can not compare them.

Yes, it makes sense for game design number crunching.

But you cant have the number crunching so far out of alignment of logic to the point that it doesnt make sense. If you do, you have a bad game.

Hence the problem. Instead of designing droids as an integral part of the game from day 1, they put it off till 8 months after release. How you put off droid development in a star wars game, i cant imagine.

I have to agree... the quote hits frighteningly close to home

But this is a Two-Week Tripper is it? Been getting a lot of them lately. In fact, I should duck out before El Dartho notices the pre-nerf I picked up for cheap off one of these short-terms

The only DE's that benefit from the proposals are those that only want to craft more droids to make even more money.

The idea of combat modules is just painting over the cracks, only give a BLL and Protocol droids 1 module is pathetic. Why add these bandaids now? why not redefine what droids are used for with proper roles, so that for example, A Binary Load Lifter could perhaps lift heavy / large loads?

In the movies you get droids that control other droids, you get R2 and C3PO controlling other computers independantly of any handlers. You get Trade Federation battledroids being controlled by other Battledroids. But suddenly you need to know how to command the semi-sentient droids, If you use the analogy of PC's in real-life, they started off as something you needed training to use, then someone invented a operating system that enables even my nan to use without training. The same would happen with droids in Starwars, if every droid needed specialist handlers, no-one would buy them, they would wait for the Microsoft Battle Droid to be release (not saying it would be reliable etc)

But considering that this game is now only loosely based on the ideas of Star Wars, who's going to care... certainly not the devs.
