Thread: Question about probots

I just bought a probot, felt like helping out someone I know by giving them some money, and figured I might as well get a probot out of it. Knowing little about probots, here are some questions.

Right now, it has a HAM of around 800-900. Is this normal?

If that is low, I would assume it's because there is a lack of armor modules/whatever.Can these be added in later, or do they HAVE to be added when the probot is built?

How exactly do I name my probot? I thought that if I told it that the follow command was "follow me" and then I used "Name Follow Me" it would eventually pick up its own name. I did it 10 times with each command I had taught it (attack, group, follow me, follow other person) and it didn't pick up the name I used ("Q"). Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all the help guys.

800-900 is normal now, as well as lower damage. The Devs felt that the Probot was too powerful, all agree it was too powerful but they way they "fixed" it is a heated topic here. To name it you have to program 4 different commands using the name first

choose 'follow me' from the menu and then say "Name follow" do this for 4 different commands. If that doestn work then click 'follow me' and type "/say Name follow" do this for 4 different commands and it will work. The name has to be one word and must be all letters.

Thanks for the response. I read elsewhere on this board that the armor modules are (temporarily I guess) disabled. If/when they are enabled again, can I just add them to my Probot, or must I get a DE to build me one with the armor?

The way the system works now you can't add anything after the droid is built. Adding/upgrading already built machines is on a wish list but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. So bottom line is if you don't want to wait for something that may never make it into the game then you will have to have another built after they enable armor.

I still build mine with armor even though it is disabled for the hope of the customer that when the Devs decide to have them enabled their stats will appear on the droid.

If possible could someone please explain to me what constitutes a Pre-nerf probot?

I have an old one, i think at least 4-5 months old its stats are:

VIT 100/100

HAM all 810

Attack 1.5

To hit 0.3

Armor rating light

So is he a pre-nerf or is he useless? Thanks for your help

This is an ordinary Probot, not a pre-nerf - sorry =( I can't remember exactly how much HAM pre-nerfs have (I wasn't a DE then) but I think it's over 1500 - anyway way more than what they've got now. I would hardly call that probot useless though, even with light armour (and I'm assuming 25% resists?)it should serve as a decent tank for you, or just to keep enemies busy while you get out of harm's way.

pre nerfs had about 3.1k HAM, with 150 damage.

Thanks for your reply Nouveau this clears up alot. I am a cl 80 so grouping with it will only help it. I want touse the driod mainly for helping the guild when going after hi end mobs. Im more of a support person but would like to be able to get in as much damage as possible and any healing eff is a bonus to me since i already heal for 1.5k to 1.8k. But I still have 1 more burning questing, not being a creature handler would I even be able to use a cl 30 droid?

To start with im not a DE. Im a mdoc, mpistoleer, carbine x4xx. I am looking into getting a nice droid, preferably a probot, thats add to my healing eff and can help out in combat and I dont know if thats possible. I also need to know what other options I have as to its abilities and what can be put into it.But basically im just curiousabout it.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's quite a few configurations you can do for what you're asking for; you might want to start with checking out the stickies at the top. They are full of good information on droids and their capabilities.

Thanks for the pointerandafter reading the droid 101 stickieim still kinda confused and its a bit outdated. What I think im going to need is an advanced probot which has 2 armor modules and 5 other modules. So in essence it is possible to have the 2 armor mods, a healing mod, a combat mod, and a storage mod, a self repair mod, and 1 other mod. Now is it possible to have say more then 1 healing or combat mod to increase the effeciency of either. Or are you limited to only be able to have say 1 healing/combat mod in a driod at a time. This is where im confused. Also Ive read that the self repair doenst work, and that the driods health is based on its cl. Me being a non-ch I can only have up toa cl 10 pet/driod, what would the health be on it? Also can a droid be destroyed completely. Again I thank you for your time and help.

after re-reading I found an answer to my question of can a droid have multiple of the same mods and the answer is yes it can but does that still apply since the most recent updates?

You used to be able to stack combat modules to increase combat effectiveness, but that has been removed. One HQ combat module should be enough to max the droid out at CL30. Armor also doesn't need to be stacked if you already have a lvl 6 module in there, you don't get any additional benefit for having a second lvl 6 module. Now, if you had 2 lvl 3 armor modules, they would stack, but your max is going to be lvl 6, so unless your DE of choice can't make lvl 6 modules, that is an option. Any combat droid that has one combat module and one lvl 6 armor is going to be CL30/3742Health. Period. From a DZ70 to a fully loaded R3 ADV. I make and sell a Probot with 1 combat module, 1 medical module, 1 armor plate, and 3 auto repair modules. I have trouble keeping them in stock.

The medical module should also max at 110 medical bonus. You can add more modules, but it won't help.

If you are below CL30 it would behoove you NOT to group with your droid, as it's level will be brought down in line with your own.

Droids cannot be completely destroyed.
