Aside from experimentation tapes, I'm a bit foggy on what exactly other DE tapes do.
I know that droid speed/tracking/etc. is for Bounty Hunters... but what benefits do we get from droid assembly tapes? Or Droid complexity? Or Customization?
I guess what I'm looking for is a list of all the DE skilltapes and what exactly they do.

Assembly: reduces critical failure rate.
Complexity: nothing (leftover from beta)
Customization: raises your customization modifier. It caps out at master, so it's only good for DE's who havn't done the refinement tree.

Now that I am thinking about that, nonDEs can now colorize their own droid. I bet those tapes would be perfect for them. Because DEs with higher skills get more choices. Interesting theory......

Not really. The customization tools never used the skill to determine the number of colours. The skill was only used during creation of the droid.

Thanks for the clarifications... on a related note, I dropped a +5 experimentation tape onto my Droidsmith's Tool Set bandolier tonight, which already had a +3 rating, and instead of taking the total experimentation to +8, it became +5! Is this a bug?

Technically, yes....but it happens with all attachments. Any same attachment will overwrite a old one of the same stat.

of course not, its a design feature.
