Thread: Ranger's plea for new droids

Please, please, make the new harvesting droid work like a Medical module (i.e. 110 or augments your skill by 10% or more).
The way its working right now, there may be some kind of benefit, just not working right now. The modules do have ratings, so it seems they should be better as the ratings get better.
And please, make the new droid able to accept a +10 item storage module, a trapping module as well asthe 110 harvesting module described above. The reason for this request is so that you don't have to pull out a different droid after you make your kill just to harvest it.
There isn't an actual new droid, just new modules for old droids. Depending on the type of droid you got, you may be able to get all of these in one droid (though with the way the modules are stacking a droid will all these different things won't be quite as good at each individual thing as a droid that just specialized in one thing (with the exception of storage, that caps out with 1 module).
I'm really excited about the new droids and will immediately buy a trapping droid when they come out, but I'm a little wary on the harvesting droid if all it does is harvest at my level.
All in all, Rangers are happy to see DEs get some Dev attention and I hope the second phase of the Droid Invasion lives up to your expectations
Thanks for the reply. The problem I have is that if I'm using a trapping droid to help take out an animal and the animal goes down, I'm going to have to wait for the combat timer to expire, then wait 15 seconds to get my harvesting droid out.

Right, you could get an R3 with storage and any combination of 5 harvest/trap modules.More trap modules means you can store more traps, more harvest modules (should) mean better harvesting results.

You could throw up a basic camp before you pull the droid. Then you can pull the droid immediately - cuts into your harvesting profits though (10 hides and 5 bones each camp, if I remember rightly). I used to keep crates of the things in my backpack for calling vehicles and pets before thecall anywhere ability came into effect.
Unfortunately, to get a harvest ability of over 100 on a droid, you need all six modules to be creature harvesting modules. Each decently crafted module has a rating of between 15 and 20, depending on materials quality and expermentation. The following are themost likely versions to be produced, and they will be more for scouts than rangers.
1. 1tenitem storage module, 5 creature harvest module (for a harvest rating of 75-100)
2. 1 tenitem storage module, 1 trapping module, 4 creature harvest module (for a harvest rating of 60-80), and maybe some armor modules to give it survivability in case of aggro from throwing traps
3. 2 trapping modules, 4 creature harvest modules, and some armor modules if the buyer doesn't mind having to store the harvested materials on his/her toon directly
Personally, what I'd like to see them do is allow you to have \one strictly utility droid (ie, no combat capability and no armor) and one combat droid out at the same time. Then you could get and use your harvest droid with 6 harvest modules (you still couldn't get the storage if you want it to give you a harvest bonus) and another droid with a combination of combat modules and trap trapping modules, plus some armor at the same time. Sadly, that's most likely wishful thinking on my part. ![]()
My droidsare2 probots with; 1) 10 storage, it can hold 79 stim As, hold 29 traps with a trap bonus of 39. 2) A probot with 6 combat modules in it 9k ham (3k in each) does 176-185 damage.
Theirgood little droids.
If i had it todo over again i would have 1 droid with trapping and harvesting only(no armor, no point as if it dies you can store it and call it again). ............ Ohh wait i can hold 5
guess ill go buy another one.

A customer reported to me that harvesting module on befriend droid don't harvest. He told me that was the only command that did not work.
Dunno if it's a bug or as intended.
You have a probot with 9k HAM? How did you manage that?

I was wondering about the "6 combat modules" too when probots only fit 5.
