DE:

I have been away from teh game for about 5 months and will be for the next 7 until I get back to the US. I was always disappointed with the DE prof, not because I wanted to be one, but I always thought that droids should play a greater roll in SW than pets.

I don't get much interent time, but I try to follow SWG as best I can while I am away, I am wondering with the new Droid Overhaul are there now new droids in the game? Are there new combat droids in the game? I never much liked the probot. If not, are they talking about adding other combat droids?

GL to you DE! I always hope the best for you. And I hope when I return next Feb that I see people using their droids in combat and not their rancors. (not that I HATE pets, but I like the idea of droids better)

thanks

There are no new droids in the game, but there are new MODULES in the game. The modules are what do the various things, and then you put these into the droids that we have always had. They are pretty successful (although the usual craze is over), because they do lots of useful and interesting things. One of these modules is the combat module, which gives a droid its damage output, up to 180 in some cases. The HAMs have been increased, and can get close to 3200 for a probot, 4500 for an R3 (which holds six modules) and close to 6000 HAM for an LE Repair droid.

The new modules are:
- Auto-repair, which allows a droid to heal itself and other friendly droids.
- Repair modules, which allow a droid to repair other droids.
- Item storage, which can store up to 10 items.
- Stimpack dispensers, which can be loaded with Stim As and allows players to be healed.
- Data storage, which stores schematics.
- Merchant barker modules, which allow a droid to spam a personalized message and dispense waypoints.
- Structure maintenance, which allows you to program your droid to pay maintenance on a structure (these have been buggy).
- Entertainer effects modules, which can be programmed to produce spectacular effects for musicians and dancers in cantinas.
- Detonation modules, which, as the name says, detonate when given the command. They are basically droid bombs.
- Scout trap projectile modules, which fire scout traps at a target.
- Playback modules, which play back songs for musicians.
- Creature harvest modules, which allow a droid to harvest creature kills while you continue fighting, and give a harvest bonus.

All this in addition to the known medical modules and crafting stations, and armor modules. They really did well with Patch 8 (Droids Rebuilt). Most everyone seems to enjoy the new droids, and I've made over 4 million since the patch.

If you are in the military, thanks so much for your service, I hope this gets you somewhat up to speed on whats going on in SWG. Hard to believe you'd care, considering whats going on in the world.
