Thread: never ending bounty hunter droid

talking with a bounty hunter in game over the weekend i found out that the bug allowing bh of investigation 3 unlimited charge on probe droids is still in game. THIS was reported MONTHS ago!


I think its high time this got some attention.

Ok, lets clarify this:


1) This occurs with the ability gained at investigation 3 called /droidtrack.\

2) This only occurs with Seeker droids ...not arakyd probe droids

3) If the seeker droids are used normally, they loose charges.

4) If Investigation wasn't as bugged as it is, I'd agree with you that this needs to be looked at. To be honest, it's not a top priority because; a) they had to use the seekers to get to investigation 3, so it's not like they didn't earn a little knowledge on how to get more out of their droids and b) they still have to buy a constant supply of Arakyd probe droids.

I've been keeping this front and center, along with Structure Maint. mods, but I don't see it getting focused on immediately.


I think many DEs know this exists...so they just don't make Seekers. I know I don't.


I'll keep pressing this, as the Jedi revamp (and the associated need for BH droids) will signal a real need for these to function correctly...and not be an item that can be exploited.

So, to make sure I understand this right...


Akryds function as they're supposed to, and it's a good thing that I just ran off a ton of them without thinking to check if BH droids were working properly.


Seeker droids are still needed, unless the BH chooses to use /droidtrack when he reaches investigation 3 and beyond. (or is it only at inv 3?) If he does, the seeker doesn't use charges, so he'll only have to buy one and it will run infinitely.


Is this correct?

Yes, that's correct. Though I have heard of instances where the seeker does loos a charge with /droidtrack although it's few and far between. If they are used "normally" they still loose charges. As I also recall, using them normally updates faster but /droidtrack updates more than once. It's a tradeoff. Of the BH's I talk to, most of them when on their target planet send one /droidtrack, then immediatly send one the regular method. Eventually getting updates quicker. The end result is: they still use up seekers, just not as quickly.

This is as much as a BH issue as it is DE. When i think i've used up 10 or 5 droids, i try to delete them as i dont like to feel i'm exploiting the system, but i think they apparently fixed the issue not long ago, but i agree that it looses DE business but i still tend to buy when i delete them, 'cause i'm an honest little BH.

I used to be a MBH, & yes I had some infinite use droids. I dunno why this hasn't been addressed yet...

You mean they haven't fixed this YET???? I just ran 1.5 metric $HEYOT loads of these things figuring that bug was WAY in the past!!!! WHATS UP DEVS???? CAN WE SAY EXPLOIT????

There is also a tracking bug with droidtrack as well that causes the BH to crash to desktop when they get a report. Solution given by the community is to just use find, therefore expending a seeker. Its usually on planets with PCs. However I do have a DE alt and none the less wouldnt mind buying seekers. This has to be fixed and of course you wont see it fixed for sometime.

i'm just starting as a DE with my alt, but i know i won't make these until it's fixed.


BTW it's not an exploit because the BH is not doing anything wrong. a BH HAS to use seekers as part of his proffession. I have had the same 4 seekers since xmas. I have bought 2 more crates since them, but the bug is still there.


I hope it does get fixed, cos I use about 5 every hunt, so they would be a big seller to DE's.
