I'm a new DE (0-0-0-0 to be precise!) and also haven't had Master Artisan too long. What I'm wanting to do is experiment with the medical units before putting them in the droids so I can get +.. but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be using. It says 50% Conductivity 50% OQ. So should in one slot I use something with really high Conductivity (which I have at 963, I tried it in both slots and it came out "Effectiveness: 0") and in the other slot something with really high OQ? I'm confused! Can someone explain how I can get high +, as that's what I do as Master Artisan, or do I need to be further up the DE tree before it will work?
So confusing.. sorry this post isn't very clear!
Thanks a lot

If the component depends on 50% conductivity and 50% overall quality then you want to be using materials with the highest values in both conductivity and overall quality. For example, a material with conductivity of 700 and overall quality of 700 will be better than a material with conductivity of 900 and overall quality of 100.
For medical modules I'm not sure that experimentation will do much good at your level, if ever. I'm 1012 and I've never managed to craft a level 1 medical module that wasn't rated at 55 in the final droid or a level 2 medical module that wasn't rated at 65. Note that the rating you see on the module when you experiment is not the rating you will see in the final droid - they are two related but different systems. Many modules are like this unfortunately.
There are some droid components for which quality appears to have no effect on the final droid (although Pallida will tell you that since we can't see the code we can't know for certain). Ultimately the decision whether to use top quality resources and to experiment is yours, but many on these boards would counsel you not to bother on the items that appear to make no difference (motive systems, sensor packages, manipulator arms, droid brains and others).

I have to agree, only on a few modules does expermitation really has an effect on the overall outcome of the modules.. Combat, Creature Harvest, Stimpak to name a few. Most agree that quailty as no real impact on the majority of subcombines either, like the EMM & GP modules. But I still experiment to get the MQ to zero or higher, not for any real or precevied benefit, but just to make me feel better. As for the Armor, Medical, Item storage, and Data storage modules.. the level is what decides the attributes.. ie.. the oly way to get a 110% medical rating is with a level 6 medical.. level 1 item will always hold only 1 item.. etc..
As a pure novice DE 0000..my advice is to grind on mse droids (practice, make no item) til you are 0002, then grind out advanced frame units for a bit to get the droid frames. Other then the MSE bomb droids there is very little market for the non-master made droids.

Unless the novice can get hold of the materials required to make the detonation module, and have a MDE make a schematic up for them, they cannot build it (the detonation module) either. Or many of the Master modules even.
Thus, the novice DE is primarily stuck at making Seekers and Probe droids to support their habits. ![]()
I did that a few times... Helped someone out, by taking their resources and making a schematic for them. Of course, I never guarantee that the quality/effectiveness will be high due to the type of resources they give me.

Thanks guys, you have been really helpful
. And thanks for not bashing me in to the ground! lol.
