Thread: I can't access the data and item storage on my new surgical. :(

I asked a master DE friend of mine to make a droid for me, primarily for the data and item storage. I figured I'd stick it in a surgical chassis, just for fun, I guess.

Anyways, I don't get an option to access the data storage or item storage on its radial menu.

It has a personality chip installed. Could that be the problem? I don't see a command in the 'converse' options to teach it to pop open its storage drawers.

There is an on-going bug that prevents data and item storage modules from working in surgical droids. If the DE that sold you the droid had any decency he would have told you this first.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do except get a refund and ask why you wasn't told about the bug.

Sadly a lot of DE aren't aware of this bug or forget about it --

A lot of buyers either a) don't notice or b) don't want the hassle of arguing about it so they never mention it, and the DE never finds out about it.

Oh bleh.

It didn't really cost anything other than time, since he's a good friend of mine. He's very new to the droid profession, so he just didn't know that there was a bug like this. I have other droids with data and item storage modules, so I never imagined for a second that surgicals wouldn't work. That makes no sense.

Oh well. This is just gonna be yet another factor pushing him to untrain master DE, even though he's only had master for a very short period of time.
I hope you guys get a ton of fixes soon. I love my droids (I have the maximum 5 on both my accounts) and I use 'em all the time.

Do item and data storage modules work in C3PO's? I have several R2's and mousies already, and would like a different one.

As far as I know they work fine in 3PO's ... I haven't built one for such a long time though, that I can't say for certain. But I don't remember ever reading any issues with the 3PO model (except for the fact that its crap )

I have a protocol droid with a 10-item storage module in it, plus a food crafting module. Both work like a charm. Too bad the piece of crap won't take a name.
