Thread: New DE Looking For Explanation
I just started my career as a droid engineer last night so, I don't know if this issue has been raised at all before but: I saw at the DE trainer a busted up droideka lying on the floor. Ihave seen Droidekas (mobs) on Lok, and yet, as I examin my skill tree, I see no option for creating a droidekka anywhere in the DE abilities. Why is that? I am just curious to figure out why my chosen career seems to serve no purpose other than being a passive part in the equation that makes Bounty Hunters 'uber'.
Can someone point out to me how I may be wrong on this point, or perhaps tell me if there was ever anything said about DEs that might imply that we will, in the future, gain the ability to create an impressive droid of any kind (for somebody other than a BH).
thank you
You are not wrong. Probot and DZ70 are the only "combat" droids at this moment. We are for the most part useless at this time.

Sintrosi,
You're not making me want to 'stick it out'.![]()
Of course, I guess the Dev Team would need to give you something that you could share with us to accomplish that.
I think we all know how THAT has gone, so far. ![]()

Respectfully,
I wouldn't say we are "useless", just "under utilized". We can do plenty of stuff, but I will say that our combat droids are pretty useless. Some say that the probot holds it's own pretty well, but mine usually gets its arse kicked. I'm tired of waiting for that thing to heal in my pad, so I pull out my Greater Womp Rat to throw at them (sadly, I can't use a Graul yet).
Aside from stacking lower mods for decent quality, our lower end stuff is pretty much useless. Weaponsmiths have a market for their lower end stuff, any marksman or brawler that doesn't have the certs yet for the higher end stuff. While any medic can buy a 110 med module and make full use of it, and wouldn't take a lower module unless they absolutely had to. Data storage is a joke, and item storage isn't worththe priceunless put into a MSE or DZ for cheapness.
With fixes/improvements, though, I believe we will be increadibly useful in the future. Keep your hopes high Jorr, plug away, and you may make master in time to make use of the changes.
yeah, I got a bit off topic too because I becamequite upset as I was thinking about it and reading some other posts on this forum.
But also I do sincerly wonder specifically about the Droidekka. I mean these were a big part of Ep1and were seen in Ep2 as well, and they are in the game, as I mentioned in my original post (you even seeone in the guild hall where the DE trainer). There was also a great amount of effort put into the droidekkas in this game as well (where they roll rather than walk, and just look plain cool).
I really wanted to know if they have ever come up in discussions with the devs or anything, because it seems really odd for them to dangle the droidekkas in front of our noses like they do but give us no ability to craft our own (or craft them for others). It reminds me of what it was like as a kid when my big bro would offer me a candy then when I reached for it he would yank it back and eat himself with an evil grin on his face.
