Or the devs could just let us make higher than CL10 droids that are only useable by either DE's, CH's, or in the future hopefully a Droid Commander profession. Actually both ideas would be nice, as the FP droids would be very rare and different than the regular CL10+ droids that DE's could make. Or if the Dev's don't want to let CH's use CL10+ droids - how about Master Artisan, anyone with a Novice elite crafter and combat profession. (i.e. Novice Pistoleer and Novice Architect) Either way WE NEED NEW DROID CHASSIS!!!!!!!!!!! Even if they are CL10, WE WANT NEW DROID CHASSIS!!!!!!! Yes, eventually we would like to see higher than CL10 droids, but at least give us NEW CHASSIS!!!!

Factions give droid schematics as rewards. Now, your idea can be implemented by enabling these rewards to be high level droids instead of those sucky probots andR series which we can make already!
They can be one use, non-crit-failable (just created a new word, lol),non-manufacturing schematic droids. Example, a Droideka which will not crit fail, and which any Reb or Imp knowing the "Secret Faction Password" can use. There is no such thing, but this ensures that only Reb droids can be used by Rebs and so on.
If the devs wish to carry things even further (in order to not disrupt balance), they can make the schematic only useable by the person who bought it. A DE can build it with the given instructions, but can't use it since the programming is encrypted and only the buyer knows the password.
The capability of the droid will depend on the skill of the DE. Sure, it won't crit fail, but experimentation and resources used in the final build still counts for something.
