Thread: Clustering? exploite or not ? What have the DEVs say
Why would you think it is normal that they would implement them so that we could have an unlimited number of modules in a droid?
It is a bug, and one that they need to fix.
let them fix the droid repair tool, the 'talkie droids', combat droids, and the dozen and a half other things first! Then I'll have less heart to use this bug for my advantage.
(not that I condone nesting clusters within clusters. That's just wrong. but clusters in normal module sockets in droids I can live with myself doing)
I don't think the Devs have given an official statement about it at all. Yes, it could be a bug.....or it could just be a bad design flaw.
It's because there isn't a specific "Module Cluster" spot. They go in the "generic" spot, so really, putting those in any generic spot is fair game. That's the Dev's choice until they say otherwise, in my opinion.
Now, you might not do it on a matter of principle. But that's a whole other arguement.

Actually, there is a specific "Cluster" slot. R2s are the first droid you get that has them. The module cluster just fits in either that or a regular module slot currently. Whether they've said anything or not, it seems pretty clear that isn't how it was supposed to work.
Aside from abstract principles, the main reason I don't do this is that, for all I know, they're going to suddenly hotfix this tomorrow (yeah, yeah, I know, monkeys might fly out of my butt tomorrow too, as they say, but bear with me) and for all I know it will be fixed in such a way that people who own droids with too many installed modules will suddenly find themselves totally screwed. I don't want those potential totally screwed people to be my customers, and I definitely don't want to be the one who put them in that position.
Exploit or not, the developers never confirmed or discomfirmed all the other exploits we've had .. the most stupid (which appears to have been fixed, even though there were no patch notes on it) was being able to call all 5 of your droids from your datapad by:
calling your droid;
tell it to stay inside your house;
run 500m away;
make a camp;
call another droid;
ran back to your house .. voila, 2 droids;
repeat above;

I am still unersided about the clustering problem so I was wonering what every one else thought?
I think it's legit to use cluster modules in regular slots, and I think it needs to be changed.
To me, it looks like they didn't think it through all the way, but at some point did intend for them to be used in General Module Sockets.

Its a fun and currently harmless bug. I use it all the time to make the Mighty MSE droid. We don't have much to do in this profession, so might as well indulge in its problems.
Actually, it is the mighty MSE that I truely dispise.
You spend millions to grind up to master, then people expect you to make them a (cheap) mighty mouse.
I will only make MSE's with a single module in them, and I sell it for the same price that I would sell an R5 with the same module for.
But that's just me.....
I'll say it again im a bounty hunter and i would love to have a new kind of battle droid like a droideka from episode 1or better yet Ig88 bounty hunting droids or other droids of that kind.I really want them to fix this professtion. I think it would make the game better all around and therewould be a decrease in ch as well.
If the dev's read this i hope you make these changes or a will spam this forum until you do hahaha.

I agree that its a bug and that it needs to be fixed along with all other bugs, but I disagree that using it is an exploit. Droids are gimped right now with impaired functionality. I don't make uber-MSEs or nest clusters into clusters but with all the bugs and poor stats that droids have I don't feel bad loading two clusters into an advanced probot. We're not talking about duping millions of resources or credits here, folks. We're talking about making a Dev-gimped droid marketable.
Not sure what the big deal is anyway since we don't have enough functional modules to make this an issue nor does mulitple stacking of modules give any bonuses (beyond lvl 4+lvl4=lvl6).
