Thread: Space Expansion Ideas

I was thinking about the space expansion and some ideas about droids popped up. Wouldn't it be great if the R-series astromech droids were necessary in order to run a small fighter (X-wing, Headhunter, Y-wing, A-wing, etc.). These fighers are too small to hold a powerfull hyperspace computer so they require an astromech droid to do the computing for them. Droids with data modules could calculate/hold hyperspace vectors (think space waypoints/ sort of like EQ bind points. You leave space wherever you have a clear shot to your "waypoint" and come out at that point), the betterdata modules could hold more "waypoints" than lesser ones. Also, droids with a repair module and a manipulator arm could repair a spaceship while in flight, like R2 did on the Falcon and Luke's X-wing.

Bria-Varien: TKA, Pistoleer, Smuggler, and wanderer.

It's nice to be wanted, even if it is 'Dead or Alive'

"Teras Kasi are leathal, nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance"
"Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities enable him or her to evade blaster fire and close in quickly, bringing his or her enemy swiftly to the ground."

X and Y-wings in fact do require R-series astromechs for hyperspace capable flight. A and B wings as well as some Headhunters have a small navicomputer allowing limited jumps, usually 10.

Data module = Astrogation module, been thinking that myself for a while (however they would need to hold waypoints for this to work I'd expect)

Z95 Headhunter wasnt hyperspace capable'off the shelf'(lots were modified however). A-Wing and B-Wing had build in Astrogation computers
