Im just a novice DE, ive been making storage compartments to sell. the 1st batch i made i sold for 700 each, i filled my bazzar lots with 25 of them, over night they all sold.

the next day i made some more and put them on, then saw crates of 25 for 6k, this is about 240 for each i think, my second load didnt sell untill a few days later, phew,

i cannot afford a factory, but cant afford to sell them for 240 each either. what price do you sell them for individually and in crates of how many.

how much would a factory be, and do you think it is worth the investment. i can make a few schematics as i have about 12k of aluminium to use or them.

what do you think?

thx for the help

Although cross-server prices are usually disparate, architect items like factories generally aren't - expect to spend around 40-45K for one. You will need one soon enough as a DE - might as well save up for one now.

It's tough to come in here and ask about prices because they vary so from server, and DE to DE.

First, find a bazaar location that doesn't already have some compartments - many people will pay more to not have to travel to another location even if they are cheaper.

Second, find the "threshold" for pricing- as you found, this may change from day to day, but if you find a location that doesn't seem to have them (and it's decently traveled) you will likely be able to charge higher prices. When there is direct, immediate competition as you have experienced, obviously your sales will slow.

Finally, you will sell many more in factory crates than you will sell singles. And remember, people buying them off of the bazaar are buying them for vehicle kits right now - which don't need to be experimented on, so you can use the crappiest metal you can find. When selling to architects for crafting stations, however, this changes completely.

can you choose different size crates before starting the factory?

good advice cheers

NP, glad it helped.

No, factory crates don't vary in size, they are standard based on the type of item you are making. The storage compartments will come out in crates of 25.

However, several patches ago they implemented the "split" feature on crates that works like it does with resources - you simply select "split" from the radial menu and choose how much you want to "split" off. For example, you can break one crate of 25 into 5 crates of 5 and sell them that way.

The big advantage to most players of crated items is normally reduced inventory space, so you don't want to break the crates down too far or you defeat the purpose. In this case, people are going to be buying them to make vehicle repair kits, possibly intheir ownfactory. If this is your target audience, it also helps to label the crate with the serial number as well so they can use the components in a factory more easily (since factories will only accept identical components as sub-components of other items). For instance, when you create your schematic to put in the factory, simply add the serial number of the schematic (it appears in the info window) to the end of "Droid Storage Compartment". This is becoming common practice with components on the bazaar.

Good luck!

I sell these for 400 credits each, or 10k per crate. I think that comes to like 17 cpu or so. That is my average pricing for the good resources I use in them. What also helps is listing the effectiveness rating. If you list your items at 90% and the other guy does not put a rating on his, you can almost guarantee that people will buy yours at a higher price. Splitting crates is a great idea too. But as Audio said, dont split too much or else you ruin the effectiveness of actually having it crated.

what I did, since I was already a master artisan, was craft a few vehicles until I had enough general crafting xp for novice architect. i trained in novice architect and then crafted some basic architect items to decorate my house until I had enough architect xp to train in the architect box that lets you build the basic equipment factory (which is very low in the architect tree). I then made two factories for myself (which took a little while because they have a lot of components). Then I surrenderred all my architect skills.

Maybe not the best course of action, but that is how I got my factories.
