With the upcoming Droid Invasion publish, there is a lot more "interest" being generated in the game's general public for droids. I put the word "interest" in quotes because most of these people are intrested in one thing and one thing only: combat droids.
Every day I get more and more /tells from people asking about combat droids, as if we DEs have some sort of secret channel to the development team that no one else can see.
So, without further ado, I give you my top five /tells. I'd be interested to see what the rest of yours are.
1. What new droids are coming out in the next publish?
2. How soon can you build me a droideka?
3. When the new droids come out, can you build me the best one?
4. I want to become a DE. What's the fastest way to grind to master?
(note:a good portion of the public still thinks there will be a DE-only uberdroid)
5. When the new droids come out will they be able to hold more than 10 items?

#1) Can you build me a medical droid super-cheap?
#2) Can you build me 5 MSE droids with max item storage for cheap? I only want to use it to store stuff.

- What's the best droid you can make? (Depends on what you want it to do) I don care best u can make! Not spendy tho!
- Why can't I name my 3PO/Surgical/LE Repair droid?
- Why can't my surgical droid heal me?

- Can I give you an R5 droid with med 1 and item storage 1 and 2000cr for a Probot Adv with Level 6 armor? (Sorry, I don't do trade-ins, especially on droids I didn't make) C'mon dude, you can sell it...don't you need one? (Sorry.) What's the best droid you can make for 2K? (An R5 with med 1 and item storage 1...)

lol thats nothin, I think on Naritus, there is a serious lack of droid knowledge. The questions I get are.
What droids can you make? ( Like I am going to list them all in a /tell)
How much stuff can I put in a BLL? (Hmm, how do I break it to him)
Can you make bounty hunter droids, not the seeker ones, but the other ones? (I usually reply with "You mean Arrakyds"? and they say "No bounty hunter droids.")
Can you make me a badass combat droid? (Commin right up!)
I dont see the crafting station on the radial menu? (That's it, I am changeing my profession to Pikeman!)

i still get:
"I need a droid."
"ok what kind?"
"oh i dunno what do they do"
"Well......"
sad really, the manual has no droid models in it.

That's probably a good thing... since it all would have changed by now anyway. It would take more time to convince someone that the manual is wrong than it would to explain it from scratch.

Yeah, it is really sad indeed. I still get sporatic orders, but it is almost not worth the half hour trying to explain what all the droid stuff is and then have someone say "Ok, I'll take whatever is cheapest." <groan> I even wrote up a droid info email I forward to anyone who buys a droid. Says how to name it, whats up with batteries, how to teach it commands, all that good stuff and yet for the next couple days I'll get 4 or 5 tells or emails asking me questions very clearly answered in the email. <yet another groan>

LOL! Sooooo true. I get that once a night. I used to get that all the time too. I've been patiently educating people these days (and keep a full datapad so they can't transfer it to me when I'm not looking) and haven't had a tell like this for a good month or two.
Other than that: I get variations on the confusion of everything being called "probe droids" for both the probot and the BH droids

"What doesthat power droid do?"
"How much for Droid batteries?" <= apparently we're the only crowd who can make these...
"Can you make those droids that roll around?"

733T Dood: What's the best droid you can make ?
Me: Well, if you want utility that's an R3 with 6 modules and armor 6. (explain modules before he gets to ask the next obvious question).
733T Dood: Cool, make me one of those. Where you at ?
Me: (Email Coords and get to work on 733T Dood's R3. After a critical failure on final assembly, I finally get it made) (Wait and wait for 733T Dood to show up)
733T Dood: (Finally arrives 30 to 45 minutes later) Awesome, how much.
Me: I charge 50K for a 6 module R3 with armor 6.
733T Dood: What !!!? You suXXor !!! My friend makes em for 15K !!

The one that hurts my heart more than anything, is 'What can a BLL do?'
its just so sad that the peak of our profession is so utterly useless (and will be in future so it seems)
I should add I have sold 2 to a single customer: for 110k each. He said he knew they were useless but was so rich he didn't care. So before I get flamed, whats's a poor girl to do? I made em. He's happy and so am I. Deal eh?

- Will droidekas be better than probots?
- Do droidekas come with shields?
- Can you make my MSEs into kamikaze themal detonators with wheels that I can send to swarm imperials when I invade their base omg hi2u Darth joo gona get pzwned
Just kidding about that last one. #5 is "how much does a droideka cost"
I forgot to add that 90% of people on bloodfin have no idea that there is a "droid invasion" or that droids are bugged at all, nor do they have any idea how much they should cost, what they do or why there are so few DEs. Naritus is bad, Bloodfin is worse. trust me lol
