Howdy DE peeps.

I was going to make my char a DE but I get a little disheartened by the posts about just how broke the profession is and how the DEV's continue to turn a blind eye to the needs of you all.

Answer to question 1......no I didn't use a holo, I was actually going to do this on my own accord and keep it.

I partly wanted to do this as I didn't want to be the millionth Weaponsmith or Armorsmith (No offense)

and I wanted to do something a little more true to the Star Wars we all know.

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel in you honest opinion or should I reconsider my choice?

Thanks

Things are pretty volatile with the DE profession of late. We've gotten some good news from Test Center about publish 7, and the slight bump in combat ability to our droids.

However, TH did just say that Droids would not be able to enhance any skills or abilities, which throws 99% of the ideas we had for utility out the window.

It's pretty much a coin toss which direction this profession is headed. Proceed at your own risk...

I know he is going to try and step in somewhere and clarify this (as a way to 'backpedal').

I think the biggest thing we need right now is a Dev Player Rep (a red-name) that actually understands droids.

I'm sorry but THdoes NOT apparently understand droids and droid use. The "clear-domed R2" statement will haunt him forever and is a perfect example of the amount of time and attention the Devs seem to have paid to the profession.

Star Wars was a story about droids. I don't even know what the Devs were thinking when they thought that putting in DE in the way they did was a good idea. This is just sad.

IfTH can't speak intelligently about the state of droid 'stuff' in the game, I would very much suggest that we request Runesabre or someone else make droid posts. TH only seems to stick his foot in his mouth on every other post.

You're making yourself look very bad and causing a ton of confusion and derision (perhaps needlessly).

Checkers anyone?

Thanks for the info.

Perhaps I will keep the points free for now and pick it up later if the problems actually get addressed.

All I can say is that I feel for you all. I have been playing this game since around July of last year and Droid Engineers are still waiting for love.

A DEV must be one of the only jobs where you can come in, screw things up, piss people off, ignore,

never ever fixeven halfof the problems that have been around since launch, etc and still have a job.

If I did the same thing, I'd be in the unemployment line.

My hope is fading on this, TK, he's posted this same basic principle twice now, with plenty of time inbetween to think about it. One statement from TH, and you can practically hear the positivity being sucked out of this forum... I don't think he realizes how much effect his words potentially have.

I am sure you are right and, quite frankly,I do not thinkhe cares.

TK is right, it's now past time that Thunderhart be told to keep out of DE matters. People who very plainly have no clue should not be allowed to speak with authority on this subject. I am a little surprised that somone in SOE hasn't reprimanded him already.

We need to be interfacing with a Developer, not someone who spouts occasional paragraphs only to hurry onwards to post more 'Jeez Thats so Cool, we should FOCUS on that sometime in the future' type empty rhetoric all over the boards.

Grr
