I am getting swamped by the sheer number of different resources required to create droids.

SWG needs to have an in-game resource organizer, or at least a way to port out CSV dumps
of item lists, and schematics.

Seriously, i have nearly 400 different stacks of resources and dealing with them all
is becoming an enormous chore.

I've dealt with this by trying to find resources that will do double duty. Like some droids just need steel and others need, say, ditanium steel. I'll go out and drop harvester on a hot spawn of ditanium and use it as a generic steel filer as well as the named for that particular model of droid. You can get down to a few specific resources in your horde that way, like 1 or 2 types of copper, 1 or 2 types of ores, etc... Organization is prety key. Knowing what you need and how much you need of it helps you find the overlaps so you can maximize the valuable stuff.

I also keep my special named resources in a different containter than the generic resources so that I know, if I am looking in that containter while crafting, the resources I am looking at are the rare/special ones. It helps a little.

But in general, you are right, they reallyneed to add more information do the "detailed" view of a container so you can sort by things like OQ or Conductivity. If it worked more like a standard windows sort window where you had multiple fields to choose from to "view", and could choose which ones you wanted to view by right clicking, and then could individually change the widths of each item and sort by any of them, it would be awesome. somehow, I don't see that happenning anytime soon though.

I find this difficult as well.

I used the other Bag method, I made a backpack and named it 'DE Resources' and I only keep the special materials DE's might need in that bag (ie Silicastic Ore, Duranium, Named Minerals, etc.)

One thing they could do to help us out is give a more Detailed Description when you put your Mouse Over the Mineral. It doesn't say the NAME of the Resource. I got tonnes of stacks of Resources in my Bank, and I have to do a Examine on abunch before I can find the named one I am looking for. Pain in the Butt.

Same here.

I also keep a backpack named Droid Parts so I can find things easier in my inventory

I have tried the bag-method, but it was depressing walking into my medium house and only seeing 3 bags.
(1 steel, 1 aluminum, 1 parts)

Seriously, i have 2 entire medium houses filled with resources,
and over half of a third medium house.

There needs to be some kind of building that archetects can make that is strictly for resources, and has a capacity of like 500 or something.

Yes, a warehouse is a great idea!

It could be a factory-type structure that you can't enter, but has alarge inventory container, and maybe even requires droid storage compartments in its schematic.
