Since my proposal is sort of buried here I wrote out a full detailed version in a new thread.
Up to now Ranger has been a glorified version of Scout, and for both professions the trap and harvest droids are genuinely useful. So I can say from experience that a helpful droid companion really improves the game experience and Star Warsiness. Therefore I'm always hoping for more.

When Han Solo, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, a boy and two droids made their way from the Mos Eisley cantina to Docking Bay 94, a darkly clad figure in the shadows pointed in the direction to the same docking bay. Shortly after, 30 stormtroopers tried to stop the heroes of the rebellion from escaping!
I find it interesting that 33% of the characters listed in this are droids. Makes me wonder if there will be some changes so droids will one day be as prominent as they were in the movies.

One of the few useful Ranger abilities was /areatrack. But it was incongruous that you could only do long range scanning by looking at scents and footprints. Anyone should be able to do it with the right equipment. R2 had a scanner in the movies.
So I strongly encourage you to ask that /areatrack be made into a "scanning module" for droids. Rangers had different skill levels of tracking (distance, accuracy, types of targets, etc.) so the scanning module could work the same way based on crafted quality and module stacking.
Actually that is a pretty good idea.
Jenden?
Yup...since we saw R2-D2 use a similar ability searching for Luke on Hoth.

I agree 100%, this would be awesome!

It would be nice, but those of us who've been through a droid revamp already are probably a little jaded and skeptical at this point. Bear that in mind when reading responses.
