Thread: Idea for re-working combat modules
Then there's the age-old question of balance, which has been hashed and re-hashed out here in the forums a lot recently. Since a droid is technically a pet, it has to be balanced like one. If a droid is going to do more damage than it is right now (past 284), there has to be a trade-off of some sort, like less health or less armor. Or a higher CL. But regardless, I like the idea of different *types* of damage...something other than kinetic.
On another note, it'd be neat to see "specials" modules, where the droid can be fitted with "knockdown" or "blind" equivalent functions.
I like that idea/ideas very much, and theoretically my idea and yours could be combined, although we'd run the risk of making droid even more complicated than they already are.

I am in agreeance with Sur-Jamkar on this one. Look at smugglers now they had all there tools replaced with loot components that are not stackable, crafters in general have a hard time with inventory can you imagine if we had to stock non stackable loot components just to be competitive.
Like I posted above if we were to get the ability to put additional component into an item to boost a stat in it, I would like the component to be an item that we could build ourselves rather than loot. Here is an expanded list of module subcomponents:
- Combat module
- Combat recital = increases accuracy in droid
- Power regulator = reduces damage but increases ROF
- Overcharge = increases damage butreduces ROF
- Enhanced barrel = adds elemental damage bonus
- Motive System
- High speed actuators = increases droid speed
- Sensors
- Radar dish =grants a limited ranger search abilityand increased tracking to rangers
- Covert scanner = like a covert scanner but mobile and shorter range (must remain stationary, usable only when SF)
These are just a few ideas I can expand it later if anyone wants me to.
Bring it on.

BUT, this would allow for a very customizable droid, I must say.
My sentiments exactly.
