Does anyone know if the crafting modules we can incorporate into droids have a rating, like crafting stations? If not, do they have an equivalent rating?

The official stance is that the private crafting station modules, regardless of experimentation, are effectively rated at 0. When the game was first released, crafting stations didn't have a function rating (to my understanding). When they introduced that rating in the architect stations, they left the droid modules the way they were. So in essence, the modules really don't have a rating...which pretty much makes them 0.

Have there been any documented results proving that a 45.0 craft station is better thanone lower rated? Or is it just a universal assumption that the numbers actually mean anything?

We went round and round about this a while back, you may want to look back for some older posts. My personal feeling is that Droids are rated Zero, however, you can have crafting stations that are actually rated negative. So if you have a crappy station use a droid, if you have a good station, use the station.
I always craft at my station when quality really matters.

I've seen people do studies where Droid Crafting Modules are compared to +45 rated Stations, with little-to-no difference being noted between the two. This seems to be a competing theory to the "they're rated 0" hypothesis. Is there any concensus on this point yet, or is it a case of pure guesswork?

I have both a multi-crafting droid (W/D/G & Shipwright) and a crafting station rated 25.x and I have to say the only reason I use the station is purely down to the resource storage. Results from crafting and experimentation never vary, even with a 15.00 crafting tool (courtesy of a artisan buff).
I do occasssional stock up on some resources and spend some time making weapons by Coro shuttleport B, put them on the bazaar, log then check back next day if I'm busy and also when hunting for resources i'll summon the droid to check the schematic requirements as I have so many schematics it would take far too long bringing up the datapad !!!
