Hi all,

I am currently doing the DE grind and have been thinking of ways that I might sell my products.

One thought was to sell droids in travel packs which would contain:

- 1 x droid deed and description

- 1 Droid Batteries

- Repair kit?

- Customisation kit?

These could come as Medical Droid Packages, Combat, crafting, astro etc.

I've been trying to think of way to put a waypoint in the bag as well for my shop so ppl can come and buy consumables.

Also, a luxury package could be offered using Spec Op packs instead.

Has anyone ever sold dorids in this way? And if so with what results/problems etc?

Cheers.

The biggest problem, is that until you're an established merchant people tend to not trust buying bags of items. There have been numerous scams in the past where people would sell empty (or filled with junk) bags with different descriptions to unsuspecting buyers. There's even a warning that pops up when you try to buy a bag because of it.

What I do personally, is modify the DeedName for stock droid at the last crafting stage. I put exactly what's in it in the name. Example: "R3 Adv - Food/WDG/Strctr/Clothing Stations - Max Item/Data" (ya gotta abreviate sometimes because of the character limit).

When doing custom orders - which are the bulk of my non-BH sales - I make the droid the way they want, leave the name alone, and put it in a travel pack. I explain to the customer that I have placed their order in a bag to discourage other people from buying it (I know I won't buy something that I have no clue what's in it), and that I have called it "[customers name]'s Order" in [color] text. I don't tell them, but I include a battery and also a Repair-D if it's a combat droid. I used to include a customization kit, but with it being 2000 calls now I'm not providing that for free anymore. That's a chunk out of my business when it used to encourage repeat sales.

As far as waypoints go... include it in the name of consumables. Like "Droid Battery - Snoosnoo's Droids [1760, -5090 / Tat]" That way they'll see it when they look at it. I have also been known to place a Reconstruction-A in the pack with a name like "Redeem this for a Free Battery [1760, -5090 / Tat]" so they come back again for the free battery. While that's not exactly repeate business, it *is* a repeat customer... who has just relearned where your shop is and will have it fresher in their mind the next time they need something.

While it untimately comes down to personal preference, and what works for you, that's how I do things. I hope it helps ya out.

Thanks Jiaah!

There's some really helpful advice there. You've probably saved me from quite a few pitfalls.

Shame there isn't a way for customers to see the contents of packs before buying.

Cheers!

I was an established merchant prior to the Novice DE grind (I was selling other people droids ;-) ) butI still ended up sticking to practice mode and trying to hit the first blueprint box asap.

This was partly because I dida stint of trying to move someone elses mouse droids for them (and this was back when all droids could hold 10 items - but those items were destroyed when you stored the droid) and the amount of time it took to shift a mouse droid for as little as 200cr was enough time to have made loads of the little buggers on practice mode

think about it like this - the sooner you get off novice, the sooner you can start making something that you can probably sell

This takes me back to when i first started DE.

I Bought my first house to make a shop for myself.

Made a few vendors and sold random stuff up until i hit master artisan and then novice DE.

Made a vendor called Dollar Store and sold grinded MSE droids for 1 credit each.

Made a nice little shouting macro while i crafted around eisley advertising my shop and how you can get a free droid for visiting.

In terms of droids, well they pretty much stink until you get up your skills or stack modules.

You would be surprised how fast half - @$sed Combat droid sell for on the bazzar at 6k each.

Just make sure you name whatever you are selling with what it does.

For example:

Combat DZ70 droid

(delete the deed part its stupid :smileyvery-happy

Medical + food/chem crafting station

The bag idea:

Nice start but make shure you tell people to look under misc: wearable containers

I sell batts for 250/charge

customize kits, well with the new changes im thinking of multiplying the price accordingly from 200 -> 2000 = 10 times more so 10k base for one

if people dont like it well go shop somewhere else or complain to the forums about it.

Repair kits, I would not inclue those in the pack, BUT advertise that you have them on your shop that way you can get repeat business,

This way people will come back and maybe find something else they like on your vendors.

Honestly though just sell the droids and accessories indiviudally and make a mse droid for sale at 99999999 credits on your vendor and name it "Check under xxx category for batteries cusomize/repair kits etc."
