Thread: Crafting Droid Data Module Questions

I am getting unexpected results crafting all levels of droid data modules.

I am a Master DE, using a 42.27 crafting stations, and a 14.97 crafting tool. I have no BF.

For example, I craft a Level 1 Droid Data Module, which calls for OQ/CD. I use:

10 Hobe Copper OQ 873 CD 999

3 Durageneohoide Inert Gas OQ 990

3 Duretewios Extrusive Ore OQ 980

My assembly usually results in a Great Success, with an Experimental Durability of 28% and an Experimental Efficiency of 14%.

Questions:

1. Why is the base experimental efficiency so low? I do not seea value this lowwith quality resources on any other crafting.

2. When experimenting from this point, I get MANY failures, some good results, and almost no great results. Why is this? I have never seen so many failures with any other DE crafting I've done.

Note that I experience similar results on all levels of droid data modules. Any advice is appreciated.

Bug? User error? Ideas?

I dont know....but I do know they change the resource requirement for level 6 data modules to remove the use of Beryillus Copper. I had mined a 100k of garbage Beryllus copper just for these modules. I could have used those harvs elsewhere! Grr...

Droid Data Modules have always experimented oddly. This is a known issue and one that Drashk is pushing really hard on lately.

Goodness, those are some nice resources you're throwing away in data modules. You know that OQ/CD of 1 will produce the same functionality data module as OQ/CD of 999, right? As long as the "module rating" is in the right range nothing else matters on these things.

I have experienced the exact same thing. I used to be able to experiment my modules way up there (not really required, but I liked to do it). Now, I've been unable to get past about 50%. This is consistent. Even when I do 1 point at a time. There have even been cases where I'll experiment with a single point, get a great, and the box will go back blue. Then I'll do it *again* and the same thing will happen. The % goes up, but only slightly.

This is assuming, of course, that I can even GET two greats in a row. I've had more crit fails, fails, and straight successes on memory modules in the last week or so than I've had on EVERYTHING COMBINED since I've taken up crafting.

There is definitly something screwy going on here.

[edit: btw, I gave ya ***** for starting this post (I was loggin on to make my own) but the system seems to have eaten it. I'll try to rate it again if it'll let me tomorrow or something.]
