I am speaking of the astromechs used as flight computers. I bought one of these things when I got my Jedi starfighter, and as I am a Freelance Pilot I have had no prior experience with one. I tried pulling him out and naming him using the usualy programming method of having the name at the beginning of each command until he "gets it". However, I ended up programming every command with the same name, Arfive, at the beginning, and it didn't take. I noticed that there are several commands missing that, while they DO have commands attached to them (i.e. to make him attack I say "attack"), I cannot bind another command to it. I was thinking this might perhaps be what is stopping him from taking the name, but I just wanted to make sure and see if I wasn't doing anything wrong. Can an astromech be names, or shall he forver remain "an R5 unit"?

They're supposed to be nameable just like how you said... train 4 commands like
Arfive group
Arfive attack
Arfive follow etc..
from the radial menu on the actual droid (not in your datapad)
Then he should take the name after the 4th command.
If that's not the case, we'll need to note that bug in the CU bugs thread (note what type of droid you have (R5?) and if you're inside/outside a structure, etc)
