Unless im mistaken i think all droids that can hold combat modules are level 18.

Correct. The DZ70, probot, LE repair and astromech droids are all classed at level 18 regardless of health or combat modules.

True, albeit unfortunate...maybe they should be re-classified as "Irritation Droids" since they are relatively incapable of real combat

From what I've seen, the actual CL of a droid is fairly irrelevent. Droids don't seem to play by the same rules as everyone else. Droids don't seem to get any of the damage multipliers/reductions (either in the damage they deal or take), so droids can actually make pretty good tanks. Had one friend who's probot took about 6 hits from a super battle droid.

That was with no healing. Granted it ws an older probot that had 3200 HAM, but even then... I think what's happening is the big MOB's are banking on the damage multiplier to do all their damage, so when droids come along and don't play by those rules they last longer. Same works with the damage the droid does (I believe, still need to do more tests). It always hits for the same amount, no matter what the mob's CL (and possibly even armor) is.

Not any more, unfortunately. Pets were the same way, not effected by the damage multiplier at all. Yes, were. It seems with Publish 17, all pets and droids are now subject to the damage multiplier as well. Put my Probot up against a level 61 Skreeg on Yavin, he was taken in 2-3 hits. And he also has 3200 HAM.
Yet again, droids and pets are at a loss of whatever small advantage they might have had.

If you group with your droid does it get bumped up to your CL? In other words, if I am 80 and group my droid, will he take level 80 damage or level 18 damage?
Thanks
Thanks

When grouping, all pets take your level, so if you are level 80 the droid will essentially be level 80 as well. But keep in mind this works both ways. If you are only level 1, grouping with a droid or pet makes the pet a level 1 as well, since the max level of the group is set only by people, and not by pets or droids.
