Thread: What is so terribly wrong with a DE only droid?

Will it put any crafters out of business?

Do you honestly expect a droid to be as powerful as a lot of pets out there, especially if the dev's plan on giving it to us DEs?

Armorsmiths get the RIS armor to make now now, Architects can now build player city structures, Creature handlers get and lose pet types constantly, Weaponsmiths can use krayt tissues to enhance thier weapons, why can't the DE's get anything new or good?

Why can't a DE get a droid that's so touchy it's got to be constantly maintained under the supervision of a DE due to the battle damage or software running it or whatnot?

How will this unbalance the whole scheme of things? You aren't complaining that we get to call more droids than the average person, but you're complaining when one droid that we might getmight equal two probots?

Do you honestly expect to see a DE run over and steal your Krayt dragon from under you? Will a DE's droid make or break your raid on Moenia? Will it hurt your business? Will it break the economy by being too powerful on destroy missions?

Or are you guys all complaining because you want the same droid we are promised? Is everyone really that greedy?

Like I've said, if the DE's get something, it won't be all UBER or anything, especially not if past treatment of our class is anything to go on. Just a few weeks ago, all I saw in here were posts on how much you guys thought we needed a whole lot of love. Now you see one thing that for some reason everyone assumes will be overpowering or unbalancing or even against the whole star wars concept, and everyone's coming in this forum and ranting and raving. Why can't you guys wait until we have it and see if you notice any difference to your gaming habits before you scream nerf?

I seriously doubt that The Plan intended to give combat modules to the DE profession that no one else in the whole entire game would be able to use.

We need to be able to sell any droids with combat modules we do get. Actually makingcombat modules that ONLY the DE could use would not allow us to selldroids. And would not help us that much.

I think The Plan was so brief on content, that they neglected to explain how usage skills such as CL or Called skills would be added to the game for combat modules or droids.

This one omission has started so many heated discussions that it's not even funny any more. Every daywe see new threads started on the same topic.

I just wish they would revise The Plan and include this one point - as they originally intended it to function - so we could all discuss the issue in that context and not sit around shooting blanks in the dark.

If we received a revised plan, we could post our opinion on this point of The Plan and say "I agree with this" or "I would prefer it was implemented this way instead".

As it is now, we all sit around arguing about implementations that we ourselves have come up with to fill this void.

And while some of the discussion may be beneficial, the concept of combat modules is not cohesive and we are just arguing amongst ourselves and not really getting a chance to voice our opinion on The Plan.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

They are afraid if its DE only, they won't be able to sell it to get rich.

Oh man, ifI get one more droid to sale, I'm going to have to start tipping Medics and Entertainers 5k per visit. I bought a Holocron for 2 million credit on Sunday, just for the fits and giggles of it. I have 5.5 Million credits right now, which is more than I had when I bought that silly game peice.

Seriously though, I think that the same 5 or 6 people that are trying to beat the pulp out of the subject are bored with their DE toon and should probably move on, but thats just my opinion.

I think he's commenting on the fact that there are really only 5 or 6 arguing for it (strongly and constantly). The rest just agree with it.

Don't be assinine, you know perfectly well that that isn't the problem. It doesn't help your case at all to resort to underhanded arguments that you know are false just so that you can fan the flames.

Or should I respond with "you only want a DE-only droid so that you can solo Nightsisters and be more l33t than Creature Handlesr."

Ok Kollos, let us compare notes (Er Posts) on how many times each of us has posted arguing the great DE Combat Droid debate in the last 48 hours.

I guess you proved thatmy beliefsthat must be wrong. Instead of arguing with the same people over and over again over and issue that is moot, I decided to do something a bit more productive with my time.....

ROFLMAO... that's because I had the day off yesterday and could post freely.

You'll also note that, unlike the proponents of the DE-only combat droid, that I do not go around posting thread after thread after thread of the same crap. I just argue it down when it crops up again.
