A long time ago, in this very galaxy... I made a promise to you all that you would be the first to know when the first force sensitive slot was unlocked.

It is my privilege to announce that this monumental event has happened today.

Now I’m not going to give more details on the character at this time and chances are they probably aren’t going to give themselves away (though I could be mistaken on that), so you may have to take my word on it for now.

We will give some more information about the first Jedi (like which server) but given that this happened right before the weekend and I need to discuss it with LucasArts, don’t expect a more formal announcement until next week.

I can tell you that we will likely see a couple dozen more Jedi over the weekend.

May the Force be with you first few (you are going to need it...)

well that formatting came out like crap...but you get the idea.

Anyone else think this Force Sensitive/Jedi stuff is going to blow up in their collective faces ?

Actually, this whole Force-sensitive stuff is very relevant to DE's.

When half of active players are Force-sensitive in one month, the company is going to have much bigger problems than fixing one profession. Pet Wars will be replaced by Jedi Wars, which would be fine if only this game took place 4000 years prior in the SW timeline. Can we all say continuity problems?

When compared to the prospect of scores of Jedi running around and hundreds, if not thousands,of Force-sensitive padawans right on their tail, having a few Imperial-banned droidekas to build doesn't seem like that big a deal, heh.

Granted, I am very unfamiliar with the whole Jedi thing, so I'm sure SOE has already built in many safeguards to ensure the number of Jedi remains relatively low. After all, everything was working like a charm when the game was released, right?

Yeah, but even more messed up doesn't mean it will be less desired. Nobody's going to open a holocron see jedi and go "ah man".

Here's the thing I don't get:

Jedi's have certain restrictions in the game. There are penalties for dying.

So... you open your FS slot.
You make a Jedi.
You then ADVERTISE who you are and what you can do.

Congratulations. You get the Idiot Button.

You are now going to be hunted like a monkey with diamond teeth.

Oh! And wait until the Jedi Bounty Hunter missions are added. Then players will get PAID
to whack you.

Hope it's fun.

Is it just me, or would everone else have shut their trap, only told their closest in-game friends, and hoped no one figured out they were a Jedi?

The person who got it is a member of an uber powergaming/exploiting guild. You have to realize that its not enough for them to be uber, YOU have to know they are uber.
