Thread: Master DE worth it???
I was a master doc and master cm, but i want to try something new. Droid Engineer looks interesting.
So my question is, is it worth it to become a droid engineer? I mean what are the good vs the bads of this profession? I've heard a lot of talk about battle droids but havent seen them. Is it on the plans? If so when will it be implemented?
So to your opinion is it worth being a droid engineer? If yes, why? If not then why not?
I'm just trying to get a feeling on what people like about the profession and what people hate about it.
Thanks
No. There isnt much to do as a master DE. Your best droid will be the same probot youve been making for ages. No god touched minerals or little skill tapes will ever make any of your droids any better.
It is about as fun as a 4 month long root canal. Some of us still bear the pain because of that silly human flaw called hope.
Im a cynic BECAUSE im a DE. Im not a cynic de.
Worth it to be a master DE? Well, not really. A master can make lvl 6 modules....sure, but anyone that can make lvl 4 modules can cram 2 of those into a droid and claim it is a lvl 6 because it gives the same benefit.
The only thing a Master can make different than others is the advanced BLL, which is totally useless (it holds no modules and doesn't fight), the advanced Protocol droid (again useless because an advacned R4 holds more modules,an advanced MSE holds the same amount for that matter), and the advanced R3 droid (again useless...an R2 does the exact same thing but the R3 looks neater). We can only really make 5 different modules to put into a droid without using an exploit (medical, data, item, repair and a craft station). The R3 holds 6 modules, the R2 holds 5....see the problem ? Our battle droids plain stink compared to creatures (I say droid's with an 's becausewe actually have the probot and the DZ70. The DZ70droid haslike 45 HAM, so it is another joke on top of a joke).
If your looking for a fun career, it isn't in droid engineering unless you just happen to like making droids like I do.
Also, don't expect to get rich off this profession. It doesn't have the income like weaponsmith, armorsmith or especially architect. You can get by once you can make a lvl 3 or 4 module and selling resources, but you will be eating dirt until that time. I make aLOT more off weapon powerups in the Master Artisan tree than I do on Droid Engineering.
