Thread: Prices on chassis?
My rule now is the resource count times the complexity. If it has sub parts figure those seperatly.
Example Adv droid brains use memory modules and GP moodules.Figure the price for memory modules, and GP modules and write those down.
Then look at the rawresource count and complexity for adv brains. It's 57 resource times complexity of 25. which gives you 1425. Then add the cost of the memory and GP modules gives you 4245 each.
Same say it's too high, but with the number of steps to create the final, the number of types of resources needed (and at some point the resource quality is/will be a factor) and the failure rate, not just in combine, but in expermentation which ruins it all. And the fact that they don't exactly sell as fast as weapons and armor which get even steeper prices. I was charging higher then this rate for 3PO chassis when player cities where added because there was some demand. About the only time I made any real money as a MDE was selling several crates of 3PO's chassis at 23,000/chassis (the finished minus options price) insted of 11,250 the computed price for an ADV protocol droid chassis.
before i sell a new line of droids i take a huge poll and figure the average for what people are "willing" to pay for a droid
my high sellers are the probe droids crates of these for 5k same with the seekers (i know one costs more but i got tired of explaining to the BH's why)
Flat rates are a godsend.
I don't subscribe to the whole CPU concept of pricing. I've had a very simmilar pricing scheme since I hit master some five months ago, which I find to be about middle of the road - higher than some, lower than others.
That said, I price frames at 70% of the cost of the "real thing". That's 70% off the cost of the droid without any modules. So if I charge 30K for an R3 Adv, I charge 21K for a chasis.
