Thread: Arakyds and Seekers, quality makes a difference?

Just had a customer return to me saying my Seeker droids are crap. He had 5 in a row blow up. I'm wondering if experimenting on these Droids makes a difference? I've never experimented on them, but have never had complaints (sold thousands, and have many repeat customers).

He only has InvestigationI, so I hope it was just bad luck on his part. I'll build him some with maxed experimentation (on components too0, and some basic one. We'll compare results tomorrow.

Just wondering if any of you have noticed a difference with experimentation vs no experimentation. This would be a first for Droids...

Correct, Inv I the failure rate for his use if very high. The numbers I've heard are at least 35% destroyed.

We've had a Master BH come to this board and post that quality doesn't matter. Quantity does and they need these droids by the crateload. A BH with Investigation I using Seekers can expect a high failure rate. Failures will go down as his Inv goes up and he starts using Arakyds.

This is like someone saying a weapon is crap because it doesn't hit all the time.

The seekers aren't crap, but instead his skills are crap.

As far as I know experimentation on droids is still very negligable and won't offer any real advantage.

I had someone say somthing to me about quality helps too when I was askin him if the price was ok, hey said "They are a little pricey, I will let you know if they are worth it quality wise." I never got a mail back from him or anything but mabee a couple of percent useing higher quality materials makesareally noticable difference.

I'm a Master Droid Engineer on one character and a Bounty Hunter on another. I can say that quality does not matter.

As a BH grinds up the Investigation skill line he gains better droid use skills. A lower level BH will definatly lose more droids than a Master.

You realize that when the same guy gets investigation III, he will be able to use an exploit that allows infinite uses from his seeker droids, right?

Thanks for the input guys. This pretty much confirms what I suspected. I can rest easy that I don't need to use uber resources and start charging double for these little droids

I've heard that quality does matter... it cuts down on the time that is needed to track the target. I've had numerous BHs come to me and say "Ackis, I don't know what you put in your droids, but they find my mark quicker than any other DE".

Gah... I hate this nebulous state of unknowing.... I've never had a complaint about my seekers at any time during my DE advancement (novice to master), but who knows??

I really wish we could get some statistical analysis done *or a red-name to comment on this* to nail this coffin down once and for all.

Quality makes no difference at all. I am a master bounty hunter. Your clients complaints are frivilous because it is because he was a novice level of the investigation tree. The other posts are correct in regard to the quality of seekers and arakyds... It is not quality it is quantity. For novice level bounty hunters the require a ton of seeker droids. Arakyds only are used once per mission regardless of bounty hunter skill. Seekers on the other hand are used over and over each mission.
