The development team is well aware of the issues with DE. I can't understand why everyone is still complaining about it! It was informative at first, then funny, and now it's just IRRITATING. I've seen the devs ba compared to Monkeys, retards, and several other mindless drones. Ehem.. All you computer game developers please stand up. (ckickets)

Okay, having said that, lets get to the point. Have you ever had a job, or do you now have a job where an unrealistic expectation or deadline was laid on your shoulders? How did you handle it?

Or how about this- You work in a service oriented buisness and you have customers DEMAND you give them what they want, when they want it- and you know that what they ask for is next to impossible to get in that kind of time frame.. What did you do? I'll wager the more they whined about it, the longer you took to produce. I for one, am guilty of this. Admittedly so.

So lets try something new... Try being a little more understanding about what is on the developers plate and let them get their job done. Maybe even a bit of praise for the acomplisnments they've made. They've done a lot in the past to make as many people as happy as possible, but they can't please everyone..

Now before you all flame this about how "they should have never put this game out with all the bugs in it" and that "the devs are spending time on other areas of SWG and not giving DE any 'love'"- I'll say this... You weren't charged the $14 for your first month. That was a freebie to see if you would enjoy what they worked so hard on. You're still here now so that tells me that you're liking it so far. So now you should just sit back and enjoy the ride, or jump out and miss out on what this game as a GREAT potential to be.

Flame away..

Roeri, this isn't so much a flame as a different point of view that might clear up a few misconcetion that you appear to be under. You seem to be under the impression that we have been complaining to the Devs from day one, this is far from what really happened. For pretty much the first three months it was the people that complained against the Devs that got flamed till they were extra crispy.

We supported the Devsevery step of the way and spent countless hours brainstorming ideas, experimenting till we were blue in the face tracking down and documenting thebugs and dutifully reporting them.

Gradually we began to get a tad more cynical and disgruntled over our neglect but it really wasn't until the infamous weekend where we couldn't build a single droid and the one line Dev note in the Development forum, not in our forum, stating their "might" be a problem with building droids 48 hours after the factthat got a large number of us actively hostile.

Considering it took the better part of six solid months before the Devs publicly began to even notice us, a substantial numberofDE's are beyond the point where vague promises will satisfy. Now listening to the posts that the various Devs have put up recently and the limited information that our former Correspondent, Sintrosi, could release to us I can appreciate that they have now begun to reallocate substantial manpower to addressing our concerns, but as they say, the proof is in the pudding. Until we have solid information and can tinker with stuff on TC and on the live servers we will not and can notbe satisfied, it's just been too long without any real substance for anything else to impact us.

No, I understand.. this was less a post agains anything you have said and more towards others who blatently blame the devs for everything wrong with SWG. Who else could it be, right? What I'm trying to get across is that they've said time and time again that they are aware of the issues, and have BIG plans for us.. Hearing this, I would have assumed that this would have quieted the storm a bit, but it only seems to have increased it. The posts I refer to is those who say that the devs are morons and or retards who are no more than a group of mindless monkeys who can't do their job right. This is no way to get things done. There are those of us who understand that things are being done, and I agree... LONG OVERDUE, but patience is what's needed, not rabbling for more action when action is already being taken.. I don't mean to offend, more to just be a voice of reason. Lets try and have fun with it guys. it'll make the new changes tast that much better, eh?

Roeri, we've been at this for a long time now. Not just for ourselves but for the droids which in turn are supposed to help the other players and the game as a whole. We have been super patient with the Dev-team. As a community we have the most hope for this game's future. We have also seen many of our fellow DEs re-spec or quit the game.

We have little or no patience left and sometimes we get hostile.

Eh, I know I'm gonna sound like an ass asking this, but how long have you been a DE and what level have you attained?

Roeri, this post seems so out of date, how long have you been visiting the DE board?

This postwouldve been much more appropriate near the end of Octotober, where there was more venom on this board (and others) than an Indian python.

Three things have happened to us since this game launched:

1. The probot nerf (our main selling point and validation for our profession)

2. Droid coloring tools

3.Slightly improved probots (the damage now)

We have been supremely paitent for those many months and we DEs who have been putting up with it for so long are allowed to complain. All older DEs here are skepitcal about changes coming on jan/feb, and until we have some concrete info, they are just empty vague promises.

I won´t comment much cause obviously you think that if you´re content with a situation everybody else is entitled to feel the same.

What I don´t understand is why you need two threads on the issue. Clutter the board with "anti-whine" threads to move the "whine-threads" further down ? Counterproductive imho.

Ive been MDE for roughly 2 months. My point is that complaining gets nothing done. that's all

I felt like the subject needed it's own post. Because I know I am not the only one who is sick of the whining.

It's like the story about the boy who cried "wolf". The Dev's have time and time again cried "we're fixing you, we're fixing bugs, we're aware of this", etc, etc, etc. The proof is in the pudding: It's December, and we have next to no substantive improvements to this profession. Yeah, January is right around the corner with their nice promises. The question remains: is this just another "we're fixing you, we're fixing bugs, we're aware of this", or is this for real this time?
