I would think more people would be on this boat. Wait we are generally the only ones making crates of MA parts.

I'll bring it up straight to the 'source' or at least the Artisan Correspondent. Actually, since crates can be split now, it would make much more sense for all crates to be made in runs of 100. That should greatly reduce DB loads.
