Hi to all you DEs. I just bought an R2 droid for my doc gf and the first time she brought it out it was a teal color. The second time it was a reddish mix. I looked at your stickied post and saw something about the color not staying until they're customized.

Ok, so does that mean it's customized when you go through all the commands and program it? She hadn't done any of that yet. Also, will this have to be done each time she calls it? Whenever I pull my probot or mouse out now they always give me the "All customization has faded away" message? If so, that's gonna be a little tedious, I guess she'll just have to play Russian roulette with the color then.

Thanks,

Customization just refers to recoloring the droid. A DE can do this for you. Once the droid has been "repainted," or customized, you won't see those messages again for a while, and you're R-unit will come off it's 60's meth trip.

However, the paint fades, and so after a time, you'll start seeing messages that say, "Your customization fades a bit more..." and you'll notice the color on your droid will start becoming muted. Eventually it will fade to nothing and you'll be back to basic colors ("customization has completely faded away"). Just get a DE to recolor it again.

Seeing the "completely faded away" message on brand-new droids is a bug - basically the software looks at your droid and says, there's no color, so it must have worn off, even though it was never colored to begin with. The random colors on the R-unit are obviously a bug too, I have no idea why that would happen...

Hope this helps...

Ahh, ok. Thanks. So I just need to take it to a DE and they can set the paint job right? That's easily fixable then.

Thanks for the quick response.

I just had a customer order a R2 ADV with 1 weapon crafting station and 4 data storage mods all white. So I make it and give it to him. When he pulls it out its not all white its purple and blue. So I tell him to store it and recall it. It comes out green and red. Next time Gray and Blue. So I pull out the old paint kit and paint it all white. He stores it and recalls, and this time it comes out a pinkish with green.

So even after I paint it after the droid has been tamed it still changes color at random each time it is called. Anyone know what isgoing on? Ive never had a droid do this before.

The FIRST white is broken, use the second one (it looks a little less than white in the selection window, but it's ok-looking on the droid).

You need to colour the droid and then rename it. After that the colours will stick.

So you colour the doird, name it "temp" or something if it's already named then change the name back to its original, and then store it. From then on the colours will stick with its 20 uses.
