Welcome to the wonderful world of Droid Engineering! Until you get further along, I don't think you have much other choice than to do what you are doing. I think most of the DEs here either did the same thing while they were grinding or supported themselves by selling resources.

As for the brocures, there are two ways you can do this. One is to type up an e-mail with your price list in it and send it to yourself. Then, when you need to send it to someone, just forward it to them. The other way is to make a cheap item and call it "My price list" or something like that and post it for sale on your vendor for a large amount so no one will buy it. Put your price list in the item description.

The way I've always dealt with prices is pretty straight forward. I figure out what I want to sell them for (I use a resource number calculation deal, but use, or complexity or whatever you want to use is fine) and don't give a **edit** what everyone else is selling for. This ends me up with selling lower than most other DE's, but I'm happy with my prices/profits and thats what really matters, so it works out well.

i always had some type of combat skills so i either: ran missions killing stuff for a few k or ran develivery missions across the map with shuttle for 1k a pop. i started to sell droids even before i became master only on custom orders since i know there is noway in hell a shop would work until master. even after i became master i hunted alot by myself or with people to get xp and money or faction points. my sales of droids has been steady but nothing great since i dont' advertise much, i deal with customers all day already at work lol dont wanna do that in game too much too. i do have the cheapest prices you can find so if people can find me then they are lucky. big money didnt really roll in for me until the vehicles patch, that should tell you something about this class =). master artisans make more money than us in most cases hahahahaha.

Right now, I don't generate the income needed to support a house, vendors, and harvestors, everything needed to run a good shop. So basically, all of my droid sales come from the bazaar. And to get myself some kind of money (because for some reason in these kinds of games I have a hard time getting money for myself), I just sell at a low price that will still bring me some kind of cash flow coming in.

Basically, the only kinds of droids that I can make right now are MSE's up to R4 units (everything I can make advanced of, except for the R4), and the only mods that I can put in are Medical 2, Inventory 2, Data 2, or Weapon / Droid / Generic crafting station, and Armor Mod 1's. I basically just made DZ70 advanced with 2 Medical 2 mods and an Armor 1, or an R4 with a Med 2 mod. Anything else usually won't sell. And I sell it all for 3000 creds. Now I know I probably -could- get more, but I've always stayed this low because 1. That's as high as the bazaar allows me to go, and I am unsuccessful at "taking orders" and 2. I don't know how high is a safe price to go, and I don't want to overcharge someone (I had a great incident last night with a customer...)

For -my- needs, 3000 is doing alright for me right now, because I can buy a stack of resources on the bazaar for 3000, and that stack of resources will last me for a good amount of droids. But at the same time, I know that I am cheating myself because I could get more for what I am selling. So basically I'm asking what is a good price for the product that I can build, which is basically a DZ70, R5, Treadwell, or MSE advanced with a med rating of 75, or an R4 with a med rating of 65...

And my other question... I hear people talking about their "brochures" and "catalogs" of their inventory and stuff... how do I do that? Like... I am hoping to open up a shop soon on Lok... if someone wanted to make a custom order... how could I inform them as to what I can make by them just coming into my shop or something?

Thanks GnomeAd. I was also thinking I could probably make a droid chasis or something, put it in my shop, and people could examine it and it would have my price list / guide, etc.

I think the closest you could do to this would be to make a chassis with the name "e-mail for price list" or "check vendor for pricing information". It's also a good idea to make one of each of the chassis you can make and place them around your shop. People like to see what they look like before they buy them.
