I think it would be cool for DE's to be able to controll multiple Droids at one time. Being a former M DE on Wanderhome, I have myself pondered the possibilities. I think it would be fresh if an M DE could controll a mini-Droid army. On the datapad it would be one unit, open it up and there are as many droids as the M DE built the deed with. Adding to this thought, there needs to be like 3 classes of battle droids: Weaker, Equal, and Stronger. We have weaker, haven't seen the rest yet.Add this to the mini-Droid army idea. At the time of creation the M DE could chose what droids go into it, but would use something like a lot system. Weaker = 1lot, Equal = 2 lots, and Stronger = 3 lots. Say the Army deed has a total of 6 lots to use. And there you have it. This could bring the DE's into the GCW as a viable fighting class, as well as keeping with it's crafting roots.

If I had to guess, the way the handwriting has been on the wall for some time, a profession will have to be created to handle multiple droids and high level droids. Some kind of Droid Programmer, Droid Master, or Droid Handler, something along those lines.

The DE will be to the Droid Handler what the Bio-Engineer is to the CH.

I like this idea, though Im not a DE and don't plan on becoming one, though who knows I might decide to go for it at some point. But that seems like a pretty good system to me, kinda reminds me how some of the tabletop games work like Mage Knight, you have so many points and each unit is a set number of points. I think it would work well, and would be a lot of fun.
