I must say, after taking my little R3 Combat Droid out for some field testing I lost much of my skepticism about the droid invasion. I put him in "Guard" mode and took him out into a crowd of meatlump stooges. Next thing I know I see lightning flying everywhere and watched the stooges fly before I could even target them myself. Every now and then a stooge would creep up behind me to bonk me on the head, and no sooner would my R3 droid extend a crotch-level buzz saw and make quick work of the poor fellow.

I just wish my probots could fit 6 combat modules like the R3. I would rather have regular combat droids for combat, rather than astromechs, but at least it's a start. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the upcoming publishes.

The combat droids works wonders with low level thugs and hoods.

And I do enjoy the *ZZPARRRK* that shoots out.

THE IDEA OF AN R UNIT AS A COMBAT DROID IS SO ABSURD I CANNOT BEAR TO WATCH / PLAY / THINK ABOUT.

In fact my biggest complaint with the Droid Invasion is the R3 unit being the top of the line combat droid - this issue needs to be fixed. I AM NOT saying gives us UBER combat droids - in fact you can make them weaker than they are now - just don't let them be R units and even worse I have a protocol Combat droid - can't you all imagine C3-P0 kicking a little butt in combat . . . . . yeah i couldn't either

Come on guys, let's be honest here. The R3 is the best of the bunch we can make, but it still is only useful to a new combat character. I took my R3 out and it was beat down to 1/3 of its health from just 4 Evil Settlers. If you get ganked by a few desert demons, the droid will be dead before you can even heal it. Besides, whatstarting character can even afford an R3 ? Oran Advanced Probot for that matter after stuffing your best copper into it to make ithave a decent attack?

None of these new droids come close to the old probot in durability and none of them are worth the cost we are going to have to charge to make them.

I am going to make the DZ70's and advanced DZ70's because they are affordable by new people and are the only droids that aren't horrible in costvs combat viability, plus they are fast and the Advanced can hold one combat and one utility module.
