This thread is to discuss the experimentation and quality quirks that come with making Droid Combat Modules. So far, with these resources:
Amoukide Copper (OQ872, CD992)
Omninilenaeth (OQ846)
Droid Brain (MQ6 and MQ11)
I have been barely able to surpass a combat rating of 100 with great successes across the board. The first droid brain produced a combat rating of 101. The second droid brain produced a combat rating of 103. Looks like MQ/2 (roughly) of the droid brain is added to the combat rating. What is interesting to note is that the MQ of the combat cluster does nothing for the combat rating. Further experimentation on the cluster seems to be pointless.
WhatI would like to know is how the combat rating plays out with the damage dealt from the droid. Wish there was a chart somewhere showing the theoretical max and min of each chassis and then the breakdown of # of combat modules and rating applied to the max/min.

I used Onofiide copper (999 con 843 OQ), Sibah siliclastic ore (955 OQ), and a Quality 13 Droid Brain and got 100 pretty darn easily. A cluster made with them Came out to 301. You're right, further experimentation was useless.
One cluster and two extra modules got me a rating of 502 when put into a probot. I went all effectiveness when experimenting on the probot, except for one point I put into durability to test, so I only got 1067 HAM from it, and 147-156 damage.
Took him out to play against some gualamas... Two hits from a gualama and his health bar went down half.... and he hit a lot for 90-120ish most of the time. The most damage he did was 155 against a corpse. His attack speed sure wasn't seven tenths of a second though.
Oh yeah, and he tries to get into ideal range when fighting, but all that means is if a mob aggros him, he RUNS AWAY. He also forgets he's supposed to Guard me if I give him an attack command.
Seems to me the only thing he's good for is bumping up my mission difficulty from 11 to 12. :/
Not terribly impressed.

Right, I think the testers in TC pitted outa rough mapping of damage comparison between droids. I am guessing that the CMR is maybe a percentage (max 100 per module) that moves the damage range around for that particular droid model/chassis.

I've been making 100% (Combat Rating 110) combat modules all morning.
I'm using Durogop Platinite Copper (don't remember the stats off hand, but it's very good - probably 875 Cond and 975 OQ) and a some gas with OQ in the 790 range. The Brains I'm using are in the 85-89% range, but I don't recall the exact number off the top of my head.
My 100% Combat Rating modules have a mechanism quality of 25 each. A cluster made from three of them using the same copper as the primary metal ends up with a mechanism quality between 101 and 105 and a combat rating of 330.

i've been making 100% combat rating 110 combat mods. Brains are quality 5. Using ecot copper (996oq,553 cond) aosoutchaf polymer oq999, and quadida extrusive ore oq 804.

Anyone try aiming for a lower total CMR where one module set would rate 50, 80, 100 and another set would rate 30, 110, 90 to see if the droid still had the same combat ability using either set?

Stick that combat module in an LE droid. The LE only has melee attacks and if you have seen Night of the Living Dead, you are going to laugh your socks off

But that would be easy. And this is SOE we're talking about. Those two don't mix well

My preliminary impression on combat rating and damage delt is that there doesnt appear to be a linear relationship between CMR and damage delt. It is model dependent. In other words, the higher net CMR rating (from 6 combat modules) one gets from an ADV R3 will still result in a lower damage rating when compared to an ADV probot with a lower net CMR (from 5 modules). However, a higher CMR will result in a higher damage rating in the ADV R3.

Before they undid the crafting changes, I managed to produce a schematic for 100% crafting modules and put them into a 100% probot. Looks like the figues match TC very well. 550 Combat Rating, 1100 HAM. Havn't actually put it to the test for damage values. Still have the droids in deed form.

I put this in my own thread when I missed this post... must be sore eyes from staring at the monitor all day.
Here are the results of my first combat droid build:
It's an R3 with 6 combat modules crafted to 95% each.
I used 2 Armor Module 4s on it too.
1606 HAM
600 Combat Rating
Speed: 1.61 <----- not very good, I know.
To Hit: .35
Damage: 130-140
I handed it to a friend and had him sic it on me. I have Novice Brawler with no boxes in unarmed, but I am a Fencer with some skill (i.e. I have some melee defense). I wore no armor.
It whupped me pretty quick. Doing melee damage from 72 to 126. It hit me twice for every once I hit it.
We went again with it in Ranged attack mode. I went down pretty fast again with it doing damage in the 90-130 range.
Once I told my friend about the Repair Kits he tipped me 40k and said he wanted to keep the droid.

a 550 combat cluster works out to 153-162 damage in my probots, and way under 1.0 for attack speed. (I just put 1.0 on the description though).
Personally, I'm enjoying the LE Repair a lot more. Take that! *punch* and that! *kicks dirt in your face*
