Thread: An attitude problem within SOE

SWG is a product. When I am not at work,I want entertainment. I choose to spend my money on this product rather than television for instance.

SOE should feel HONOURED that people choose them to entertain them rather than competing sourses of entertaining. Instead some of the SOE staff seem to have the attitude: We do what we want, and you have to worship us, no matter what we do. Espesially the coming "space expantion" provokes me. Instead of focusing on finishing an unfinished product: SWG, you choose to spend time and efford on an expantion. This is BAD ethics people.

I played planetside for a while, and I was stupid enough to buy the expantion "core combat" First of all didn't add anything to the game, and secondly ruined the game for me so much that I searched for a new source of entertainment.I choosed to give SOE another change, but I promise you: I'll not do the same mistake again.

No space expantion for me unless droid engineer is fixed in a satisfying way.

Yeah, one more thing: For the sake of decensy, give TheRealTK421a free subscription.

He deserve to be payed for the work he is doing for you, but to make his subscription free is the least you could do.

I don't think their attitude is "screw the suckers who pay us da money cause we hate droids" (Though the last 8 months aren't the best evidence to disprove it). It must be realised that SOE is dominated by many different factors. They have to weigh the desires of the players against what could possibly disrupt the game in terms of balance, and also they have to keep an eye on both the amount of time and the amount of money they have to throw at a situation.

It's all a matter of juggling

The thing is that they realize a few things:

  1. This is theONLYORPG that is Star Wars, therefor people will want to play it for the name

  2. They realize that once people puta certain amount of time into their character(s), there is a very wide range of things that they can pull with that community and we'll STILL play the game.

  3. Every update that goes live fixes few things, but teases all the players into sticking around until next month "just in case" the devs and SOE "come around". We've all said it, admit it.

  4. Most importantly, a ton of people paid a year in advance, so they have us at least July.

The problem is in the interpretation of these things by SOE. These three factors should not add up to "We have x amount of time before people start leaving so we don't have to be considerate (and have that honor as you were saying) of them until we see the numbers start to go against us. I can gaurentee that come July, the expansion pack will be released (no matter WHAT condition its in) OR a huge update will be put out fixing old bugs that have been neglected for forever. It's all about SOE surviving between monthly publishes and putting out their monthly publishes to win immunity until the next trial.

Wash, rinse repeat etc etc etc omg it's 2005 and we still don't have a decent system of placing items in our houses.

Warfish,

It seems you are more the person with the attitude problem with ungodly high demands. The developers do not have to worship anyone but George Lucas. I don't see any real point of your thread except that maybe your moody anddidn't eat your cereal this morning.

I have been reading the threads here for a while. It suprises me that people make posts like this still. Do you honestly believe that these type of ideas are seriously considered by anyone who would matter over at SOE? Personally, I am waiting for WoW. My buddy and I are already forming a guild to start there. Some from SWG, some not.

Either way, SOE lost me with this patch. So much hope. So much wonder...it comes out and nothing good at all. I am very displeased. I can not get over 85% quality experimented unless I wander the galaxy and pay ungodly amounts for skill tapes only to use in something that does not bring me good income in the game. I know they fixed the crafting, but even one day of it, the most important day of it, the day of the live publish...that was uncalled for. Postpone it one day and fix it. Now everyone has our nerfed droids, they know they suck...why would they want to come back today to buy more so that we can get 95-99% experimented quality on these pathetic droids?

So, my hope for this profession and this game has become quite unsettling. SOE seriously needs to put their head on straight.

BAH! Even I am typing pointless, overlooked thoughts. Bah...They will know what I think when I finally click that "cancel subscription" button. LOL.

I think he's just tired of being told one thing and getting another. That and paying $15 a month for it. He has some valid points tho, he just didn't use much grace saying them. CSR's act like cops in this game and interfere in gameplay. Submitting a ticket means nothing. If you complain on the boards to vent a lil' steam you get banned. It feels very KGBish to me. I'm not having the fun I used to and I think a lot of the reason is customer service or lack there of. They work for me but if I ask a question I don't get a response.

Yes, I knew a guy from our server who was stuck and could not move, under any circumstances, using all available ways to players as possible, nothing worked. He was stuck for 3 days with no help from CSRs. I think they need a priority list. If someone is in need of that type of help, they should be 1st on the list. To make it worse, they didn't even credit his account. Imagine if your cable went out and they didn't give you credit when you asked. That is the same thing here.

As far as lack of Customer Service...well, imagine going into a store and there is no one at the counter. Wouldn't that make you a little upset? Imagine standing there for 20 minutes and no sign of anyone. Imagine standing there for 2 days and no one.

As far as getting banned, suspended or what have you because you voice your opinion. Yes, it is KGBish. Imaging going into a supermarket & telling the cashier that you think the lines are too long and it is stupid they don't have more cashiers to handle it. Imagine she picks up the microphone & says to the entire store: "Mr. Jones, we are not here to breed anger. We are here to shop. You can not shop here anymore. Leave now." Anything reason less than violence is illegal to ask a customer to leave.

All in all, I don't care if they don't have enough CSR's to take care of business. That is part of what we pay for...Customer Service. If you don't have the workforce to handle the load, hire more. If the CSRs start getting power-happy, replace them. It is "Customer Service" not "Company Service."

Problem is,the SWG Dev Teamseems to be much tooheavy on Group Think and hubris. Theseattributeswill notearn them respect and appreciation from their customers.
