THANK THE MAKER! Now maybe droids will be come more common and this game will feel like StarWars again instead of PetWars.

but the above statement needs a bit of clerification. Before this patch, living pets only suffered stat loss if they were actually killed and not incapped. Droids on the other hand died instantly when only incapped. The question is, will droids work exactly like pets and have to be DB'd before suffereing stat loss, or will they take stat loss when incapped?

I'm not a droid engineer, but just a droid owner. I want droids to be more useful to add to the Starwars feel of this game. I'm a crafter, not a fighter, so I need protection. Since this is starwars, I'd much rather use a droid for protection.

Just a suggestion, but what if deathblowed droids dropped to the ground as a pile of scrap. This scrap can be picked up and taken to a droid engineer to be reassembled. A rebuilt machine is never going to be as good as a new one, so each time a droid is rebuilt, it should lose some stats. Droid owners are happy cause they don't lose their expensive droids... droid engineers are happy cause they have a sideline to charge people for. Devs are happy cause they have a new cash sink.

Or maybe make it so that a droid repair tool can "revive" the droid. A droid vitality pack of sorts.

Any idea when these changes will go to the live servers?

The way I took it is that droids will work the same as creature pets but I don't know.

Nor do we know when it will be on the live servers, but it will likely be in the big monthly patch in september.

Hanny69, you seem to be a little off topic. But, there's a fairly rare bug where a dying droid will not permadie, it just loses vitality. If this happens to you, the droid gets the Vitality Pack option on the radial. It happens so infrequently, I believe it to be a bug, and there is no droid vitality pack.

Based on that, and what we see now, every droid incap results in vitality loss, Deathblow or not. That's fairly likely to change to exactly the same as it is for creature handlers though, which is on vitality loss for DB. Until we see it in action, it's hard to tell.

My own personal twist is this.

Deathblow = Trip back to the DE. Using the skill teaching code to relate to... DE groups with you, gets a repair option (instead of Teach)in his radial on you, and assuming he has the skill to build that droid in the first place, he can get it up and running for you at the cost of a vitality point. This should grant DE XP. If you can't find a DE, the DE trainer will do it for you for fee based on droid level.

Revive pack would be needed to bring it up from incap with no loss to vitality.

Droidscould either come back full strength, or with wounds of some degree.

Same thing for CH/BE pets.

I just had a customer come to me today and ask for 3 probots.
"No problem," I say, "Here ya go."

Sell him the droids and we continue on our merry way. About an hour later, he /tells me asking what is a vitality pack for 'cause one of his probot's has on option to "use vitaliy pack" in the menu.

I say, "huh? That's odd, none of the droids i've ever made had that option before."

And he says, "ya, it just showed up in my droid after he got KILLED."

And i say "@%#^$!??!, your droid got killed and you still have him in the data pad?"

and he says, "ya, i just called him out and i'm looking right at him. So what's this vitality pack thing all about?"

So i colapse to the floor in my workshop, and wake-up thinking it was a dream.

Could it be true? Is droid perma-death gone now? Can anybody confirm this? What do i tell him about vitality packs?

This droid that i'm talking about was just made 2 hours ago (noon cst)
