Thread: Crafting Exp Went Out the Window

2 patches ago, we got exp for successfully assembling a droid then again after the final naming stage. Now we only get exp after the naming phase. Also, for example, I put together 4 advanced R4s and the only exp I got from that process was for the frame creation, not creating the final droid... Wonder how many droids are like that? Is the only way to get decent exp by grinding frames? That even seems to take longer now... Seems crazy but I feel like I'm missing a subtle hint to get out of the business. No chance of that, I'd sooner quit the game, but what's going on here? Can a brother get a lil quality control?

Yeah, I noticed that too. It depends on the droid, some still give the double exp.

I have practiced on so many Advanced Droid Frames that I have a special way of placing the keyboard to avoid carpal tunnel and I have a little tune I make when crafting. It goes:

Zip! Bling! Bling! .... Bling! Bling! Bling!...(repeat ad infinitum, ad nauseum)

It's even worse if (like me) you premake the manipulator arm packages - there's 316 exp right there.

I noticed combining basic R4s with one module that I only got like 300 DCXP for the final combine.... where when I started making R5s with level 1 med module, they gave 1054 exp from scratch.

If I'm not mistaken, they took out user xp for using components that you created. So, youindeed get no xp for the final combine of an Advanced R4, as there are only components, no resources. Maybe time to start selling components on my vendor

Dude.. user exp should net us a flow of exp while our droids are being used, but that's not gonna happen. Two chances to lose the materials and components, seemed like a fair breakdown before... look like I said, am I missing a hint here? Crafting modules still don't stack reliably in cluster or adv R5... Man I'm sick of fighting this crap. Factory ain't working, can't make gp modules for bounty hunter seekers even... I'm taking a break. Pretty sad that what is halfway a good game is just such junk in other ways that most of the players will quit before it's decent.

OK I made a regular R2 today and still no exp... is it because it's 75% components? You know, the thought occurred to me while I was grumbling that one of the worst things about being a droid engineer is the fact that MOST of our exp isn't made by making droids, it's from friggin frames and arms...

"Dude.. user exp should net us a flow of exp while our droids are being used, but that's not gonna happen"

Dude...You are right and wrong, there are 2 types of User exp, the crafting components UXP was taking away from stuff you have created yourself. The other type for people using your droid isnt working at all, just like architects dont get any for people using thier deeds.

2 patches ago, we got exp for successfully assembling a droid then again after the final naming stage. Now we only get exp after the naming phase.

The exp you got from successfully assembling the droid was UXP from your components, basically you got 1/2 of the total exp you got when making the component. For example, you get like 316exp from making a arm package, 2 patches ago you got an additional 158exp just from that arm package on a successful assembly. Now you dont get that exp, supposely, I havent tested it myself since my exp is capped, you get that 158exp when someone else uses that arm package in a droid, so partner up with another DE and swap parts.

So right now, at the naming phase you only get crafting exp from the resources you used with your components. Hence why you dont get any exp on a advance R4.

The thing that is silliest about this, in my opinion, is that to advance in level at any decent rate you must grind frames at least part of the time. Ideally, I think that crafting an advanced Probot or R2 should give a LOT more xp than grinding a few frames, but no, frames give the most for the time and energy and simplicity of resources.

I spend my time making droids for people, advertising them in town, doing harvester maintenance, then, when I have some time and extra steel, grinding frames to level up. I try to spread out the grinding over a little bit each day, that way my whole time isn't just grinding. It has been pretty enjoyable.

Peace, fellow Droid Engineers!

You re-arrange the keyboard too??? My wife thinks Im nuts!! ( shes right, but I digress)

I set a pillow across my lap, pull the keyboard right off the desk and lay the keyboard along the pillow, towards my feet, then I have to prop up my wrist with a cd-r box... keeps my fingers nicely lined up for f9-f12 and the enter key. I can grind out 7 adv droid frame units per minute like this.... dont even have to keep my eyes open...mwahahahahah

If I could reliably store the 500k steel and 350k fiberplast it takes to master DE I might consider surrendering the skill tree for a while. As it stands that stuff has about as much a chance of not getting "ghosted" as a snowball in hellfire...

Except for the resources I think its great I ripped through refinement in a little over two hours and I wasnt even grinding the whole time. Actually I didnt mind the resources because it was a straitforward deal not having to find rare resources, at least on bloodfin.

Lucky for some! On Bria/Corellia, the resource shift two days ago removed all Steel and Extrusive Ore for the planet. All the DE's loved that one!
