I bought a Probot Droid. I don't mind that it can be destroyed and even that it is whimpy. What makes me mad is that once it starts fighting I can't seem to store it and keep it from getting destroyed. What the heck am I doing wrong.

Thx.

You cant store it when its fighting, thats why you have to be careful what you take on, I usually have mine just follow me unless its a mob that I can take with him, knowing he wont get destroyed.

The best thing you can do is issue a follow command (this is assuming the Droid moved away from you to engage) which will cause the droid to stop fighting and return to you - if you can get agro off the droid you might then be able to store it (dont know if the system checks to see if you are in combat though) but if youve got agro off it its probably not going to get destroyed (unless you are fighting multiple opponents in which case you probably wont be able to get agro off all of them)

Wow, this is a huge weakness for me. Im almost a master sword and my missions are too tough for him. It would have been nice to use him to take some of the fire off me for a bit..

Thx...

the problem is now that the nerf of the probe droid is in full effect that they went from 3500 ham down to 800 and their attacks suck.

the probe droid can no longer be used effectivly in combat unless your fighting cl 2 mob's

all in all they pretty mutch made the probe droid just a hood ornament, pretty but useless.

I do care to disagree...asa DE with some combat skills, I can build large amounts of probots for mysef at raw resource cost. I use these as shields pretty much. Stay far away, load them up with tons of armor, and send them out to take the hits I should have taken. I have been able to take down things with 12k HAM 80% medium armor this way (bleeding shot).

Also, if you fight weaker stuff that it will survive against, it DOES regenerate in your datapad - pull out/tame a new one and let the old one take a breather for a bit...

Unfortunately, if you are paying for these probots, then basically you are forced to use them against things you would be able to take without one, or risk losing your investment.

Yep probots are pretty worthless to me. Anything they can kill gives me about 1xp. If only they would let you put it away when it got low. That would really be a big help..

if that's the case, it's a bunch of BS... I have a non CH pet I fight with (I'd use a droid if it were practical), and last night I stored him in the middle of a fight. it was getting its ass kicked and I hit store in the d-pad, and away it went. if droids can't do the same, we are being discriminated against...

My guess is that CH pets will lose tha ability to be summoned out of combat as well.

In the end, I don't suppose it will really matter. Droid permadeath is going away anyway so you'll just leave it out until it gets beaten down and then use a vitality pack on it. It's just for right now that its a problem (though to be honest I don't think it's unreasonable that a pet can't be stored to remove it from combat)
