Thread: Question for droid engineers.

A few weeks ago i bought a crafting droid with a storage compartment and data compartment. I was just looking at him today, and there were no storage abilites at all. In fact, when i click on him, none of the commands or anything show up in the 'examine' dialogue and there is nothing there, no commands or anything. Just the other day i bought a mouse droid with an advanced medical unit and I can store one item in him. So my question is, did something happen recently that affected droids that people own? Will there be a retroactive fix?

a side note from a former probot owner, I had a prenerf droid, and once permadeath started i stored him. I took him out the other day and he was permadeathed on a mission...tear. From a consumers standpoint, I will not be purchasing probebots until the permadeath for a single incap is taken away. If they make a 10 incap limit or something, i will be a happy probebot costomer again.

Thanks again.

If I'm not mistaken, the storage option only comes up when the droid is out, not while in your datapad.

Also, perma-death either has been or will shortly be fixed. I think it already has been fixed but with all the recent patches and the fact I haven't been in game much the last couple days, I'm not 100% sure.

No permadeath is still in but will be taken out hopefully soon.

thanks for the responses.

Vuri - I actually did have him out. I called him, pulled up the radial menu, and no storage options. This is on a crafting droid I purchases a while ago. I got him with the storage units because i figured one day it would be fixed and I could take advantage of it. When i did buy him, i could see the option to store, i knew it was bugged at the time, so i never used it. But now it isn't an option. Remembering that, just like two days ago i purchased an advanced mouse droid that has a storage unit (1 item capacity), and I can actively store items in him without a problem. Something else that i noticed is that all of my droids, except the mouse droid i JUST bought, do not have any information (data size to damage onlyis displayed) in the examine. None of the commands show up.Are these two issues related at all? Are they known bugs, or do i need to buy another crafting droid just to get my storage compartment back.

Okay, been doing some testing. My officemate is having the same problem with his droids as well. And not so strangely enough, a mouse droid that he just bought as well does have the storage abilites, however, droids he purchased a week or more in the past, no longer have their storage ability. We tried trading to see if this unbugged the droids, but alas, no such luck. I guess this is a new official bug =[. Can anyone else confirm this problem?

Here's the problem: Before the 'big patch' of two weeks ago, droids with item storage DIDN'T EXIST. Sure, it LOOKED like it existed. ANY droid could kinda/sorta be used for item storage (for things you didn't mind losing), there was a PLACE IN THE SCHEMATIC for a slot that allowed an item storage module...

But the item storage module NEVER made it into your droid. You were stuck with a droid that had a crafting station and nothing else. This is not your DE's fault, it's SOE's fault.

After the big patch, item storage started to work correctly, and droids finally began being made that held onto the fact that they had item storage.

Thanks DE Rho! I guess i am off to give more business to my favorite DE! One more question, is item and data storage officially unbugged now? thanks.

I guess that depends on what you mean by 'unbugged'

Data storage can only be used (I think) for schematics at the current time, waypoints were removed because people exploited it for missions, and pets/droids were removed because people exploited THAT.

Item storage works fine, it's even persistent through a store/recall cycle now. There IS one little annoyance, which is that level 2 item modules look like level 2 DATA modules when created, but that's just a labelling error, the function is there.
