I have an odd question. Are we the only elite crafting proffesion that has such a steep xp earning curve? My arkitect freind was talking about how he earned 8k xp for building a street lamp. He also mentioned getting 35k for building a factory. Is there an equivilant system for DE or is it scaled? Do we have to earn the same xp with smaller stuff or do they have further to go?
I haven't doe any other elite crafting proffesion, so i really don't know.

Architect and Shipwright are pretty easy if you have the resources to burn making items.
Weaponsmith Armorsmith have it much harder with Chef as a pretty rough grind.
DE is pretty middle of the road, and from what I hear Tailor is similar.

All I can tell you from experience is, if you have a deathstar full of ore, all you do is grind Gungan Statue heads and I think Architect is very quick to master.
I found DE to be a much tougher grind to master.

DE is pretty easy compared to say Weaponsmith where you grind out barrels at 90+xp each. I'm working on DE for the second time on a new character and doing the Advanced frame units (if you can afford the fiberplast and steel considering most ShipWrights have "stolen" all the Steel on my server) it isn't too bad. Takes time, patience and alot of clicking.

Ton for ton, the DE grind is actually better off then many of theelite crafting professions.
The grind list is as follows, from easiest to hardest.
Architect
Droid Engineer
Shipwright
Armorsmith
Weaponsmith
Tailor
Chef
This is list is based upon personal experimences of the grind and is based on resources used to grind the profession, the number of builds needed to complete the grind, and overall ease.
- Architect is by far the easiest grind, due to ease of resource use and number of builds needed.
- Droid Engineer follows with its Steel/Fiberplast requirements, though it consists of a higher number of builds needed.
- Shipwright is next. You can gain a lot of experience per build, but it requires an extreme amount of resources to complete.
- Armorsmith follows. The need for organic resource types and tailor produced items puts this profession lower on my list. (Mabari grind)
- Weaponsmith could be higher on the list, if you have the 3 named resources required for the Warhead grind.
- Tailor is a horrid grind from Novice to Master. At Novice, you can gain about 70 XP per build and it doesn't get any better until you hit 0400.
- Chef......no comment.

as far as grinding goes, i cant really say. I've never done any other elite crafting profession. I can say from experience(now that i have mastered), if your planning on keeping DE, don't power grind it, learn it as you go. I approached DE the same way i approached combat classes. I made more adv.droid frames than i care to think about. Now i find myself with a Master Droid Engineer tag above my head and clueless about my profession.

Personally, I am grinding... but, I've also started a business. Trying to keep the vendor stocked and filling the orders I get allows me to keep an understanding of what I'm doing as I level up. However, without grinding, there's little one can do to keep up with orders...there's always people wanting things you can't make yet, or higher quality items beyond the experiment points you have. So, I find the grinding necessary, to keep a reasonable pace of advancement.

DE is easy enough to grind, but make sure you set up your factories for BLL chassis parts as soon as you can (ie as you get the next skill). this way you can do it in a few days (due to factory time) with very few builds.

best advice I've heard in a while, I "power grinded" DE and when I got master I told myself I am making a droid for everyone in my guild, I sat down ready to make my droids and realized I knew absolutely nothing about DE proffession.... I have made 1 droid and that was for myself I am not even going to attempt to make droids for the public until I know exactly what i am doing
