What are all these green, R2 helper units that I'm seeing around everywhere? Surely *everyone* cannot want a green R2 unit and call it "an R2 helper unit". There's gotta be something special about these droids.

So, in my total n00bness from being away as long as I was, what exactly are these things?

You get them when you create a new char. They help out the new characters with small missions to get the hang of each novice prof.

Additionally, you get it every time you take a base professions (artisan, brawler, scout, etc). You can do all of the quests given for the different professions. You even receive some interesting rewards (5 use rental speederbike, travel voucher, clone voucher), and some decent cash. You can get over 10k in creds doing these missions alone. While you will get another Green Can droid if you drop Artisan then take it again, you can only receive the cash rewards for each specific mission once in a characters life. Additionally, you only get 1 of each item reward regardless of how many of the missions you do.

Note that if you already have a Green Can and take another new profession, you don't get a second droid added to your datapad. The single droid multi-tasks all of them, it just offers more mission options relating to the newly taken profession.

Ah... my character's been around almost since launch, so I don't have one

Oh well, I'm almost to Expert Droid Blueprints, soon enough I'll be able to make my own R2's, and I'll color it green and name it "Helper"

hehe I hear ya. However, once all of the base profession mission are completed, I had no difficulty deleting it. Deleting it with mission still to be done is where it's given me the problems.
