Hi, all. I'm quite new to the game and I'm wanting to become a Master Ranger. Right now I'm almost done with Scout.
I've invested in a droid to have a little guy help me around with harvesting and trapping, however, I'm afraid I don't know how to use him to his full potential. I've read the commands on how to program him to follow, store, and the like ... however I'm not too keen on how to have him harvest certain things for me as well as use traps. If anyone can help me in this matter, I'd appreciate it ten-fold! Thanks in advance.

I've read the FAQs and I would like to hear practical advise as to the best use of a harvestor droid. I understand that having at least one combat module is advisable so the droid does not head for the hills when attacked.
Further feedback appreciated.

The droids radial menu should have a harvest optiontab (not under the program tab). It is here where you tell it what resource you want it to harvest and what command to use for telling it to harvest. You have to target the corpse you want to harvest before issuing the harvest command.
There should also be a choice on the radial for the use trap function. To load traps into the droid just drag and drop them from your inventory onto the droid while it is called. A droid can only hold one type of trap at a time. The number of charges is dependent on the number of trapping modules installed and how they were experimented. As with harvesting, you need to have your inteded trapee targeted before issuing the command for the droid to use the trap.
As for using harvesting droids, they are great at the lower scout and ranger levels because they give a pretty good bonus on the ammount of resources harvested (depending on the number of modules installed and how they were experimented). The amount of bonus as a percentage decreases as you gain higher levels. One big advantage is that you can harvest while still in combat using a droid. Mine really helped a lot as I was learning pikeman because it would take me so long to kill the mob, some of the corpses would despawn before I had killed them all. My harvester droid never got attacked (even when standing next to me while surrounded by about 5 agro'd voritors) so it never ran away...however a trapping droid will often get attacked after it uses a trap.
Hope that helps

You don't need to have a Combat module installed, I sell 10 without for every one with a combat module.
Just don't group the droid, he wont get aggroed as much, and a good Macro will keep the droid close and harvesting.
